Miss matching RAM is very random, most of the time its fine but you can get a scenario where the memory sticks hate each other or the motherboard has no clue what the hell you are doing and has a mental break down.

Worst case scenario is the sticks are not compatible and a pir of the sticks gotta go, now if you buy another 2x4 it most likely will work but if you buy a 2x8 trying to miss match then with your 2x4 it may also work but I suspect the older sticks most likely use A0 PCB layout while the new 8GB sticks probably use the A1 or A2...

So I want to build a budget PC for my little brother.
I came up with the part list above and needed help on choosing a motherboard and whether it's best to go for ATX or mini-ATX. Also need advice on a case and GPU.
He currently has an old prebuilt desktop with a Radeon 6670 on it. I also have a GTX 470 I could use but not sure if it's better. He mostly plays esports titles like Valorant and Fortnite and does his school work on it.
He has 1080p 60Hz monitor so that is the target. Would the 6670 or 470 be ok for that? Should I look for a used 970 or something?
    Any advice appreciated🙂

If you need help choosing a GPU, please make a thread where you indicate your need, your use case, your budget, and location so that others can help. Just pitting 2 GPUs against each other isn't helpful and will lead to pointless bickering.

2070 Super, unless the 2080 is the same price or less expensive somehow.
Do you really need a 2070S for Minecraft and Fortnite though..? Or if you mean Minecraft RTX, I'd wait a couple of months for new GPUs to launch.

I did a system backup/recovery and tried everything again but it didn't help. I tried the 256x version from the texturepack RAM total is now around 9gb. I'm waiting for a friend to try the 512x because he has 32 gb RAM to compare.
