    hey,
im looking for a new phone but i can't find one that fits my reqs which are quite spesific.
i want a headphone jack (thought the jack-less trend was over, guess not) and not from apple or a chinese manufacturer.
lastly i don't wan't in screen fingerprint scanner (side/rear scanner is fine), or at least a way to physically disable it if someone know of a way. (maybe spesific screen protectors?)
my price range is about 600 USD, so around the price of the galaxy s21 or pixel 6 (though those 2 have scanners)

im currently using galaxy s9 since it was the latest s series form samsung that didn't have the scanner.

Yeah, as far as I know they don't sell in the USA too, so depending on where you live, amazon.de might be a better option.
As far as to which model, 1 is usually overpriced, 5 is pretty much the same as 1 but much cheaper, 10 is the best value.

I think there is a way to disable the in screen fingerprint sensor but it involves rooting the phone and deleting the drivers iirc somewhere inside the root directory, forgot where i read this but i also prefer no fingerprint sensor as i dont use em, i think it was stackexchange

Though is your phone missing anything the newer phones have? Only thing i see anyone caring about on newer phones is mostly the camera as specs are so overkill basically noone uses them unless they got 90hz+ screen and theyre a competitive gamer like me

Unfortunately, that's a pretty terrible phone in every other respect. It'll be slower than the OP's phone and otherwise pack inferior hardware, and mobile Linux is starved of apps and other features. The Pine team is honest and knows it won't compete on features with most modern phones, but that won't help much in this situation!

Try here: Phone Finder results - GSMArena.com
You can refine that search, but I started with the specs you listed.

Sony Xperia 10 iv would probably fit all criteria, looks really impressive and will release in a month. Xperia 10 iii would be the budget option.
The only caveat is that I don't know if they still restrict their sales in US or not.

rule of thumb: Most Glass screen protectors completely bork under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanners.

I had to find very specific protectors for my Note 20 to have the fingerprint sensor still work after installing it.

    Hey,
I hope you’re enjoying our small country 🙂
Assuming you stay in Tel Aviv, here are some cool places to visit:
The beach! It’s a bit cold for swimming but sunsets are beautiful!
For food: “Fat cow” has the best burger in my opinion, at “Tony vespa” you’ll find a very tasty and cool square pizza, for Thai food “Nam” restaurant is awesome!
I highly recommend visiting “otello” for ice cream. It’s great!
We all wish you a great time and a safe flight home!
P.S. if you need a ride to the airport I’m available 😉

personally i don't think i would geek out over linus, but of crouse, he is working in the private sector, its not like he is an elected official that has to listen to us yapping.

well, anyone can go and post on reddit but only tech focused guys like us who know whats important come here 😄.

hope you saw and heard some interesting sruff that you could tell us about in a video soon!
if you saw the production line then you probably saw my friends there though they are more intersted in Kyle Hill than LTT XD...
too bad your schedule is that packed but try to order some food, tlv has really great restaurants but when people say spicy, please understand that there are cultures here that eat hot peppers like peanuts, so ask for instead "HARIF for ASHKENAZIM" (spicy for europeans).

good luck with the flights back!

I'm honestly very glad to see how amazing this forum is. If you checked on Reddit, the same topic became a political butt storm.

Either way, I guess what non Israelis don't get is that this is as close as we get to celebrities ever...

    SORRY FOR THE VERBOSE COMMENT
LTT channel has given me the courage and the idea that building a pc myself is possible and can be fun. and the community here, that helped me research all the terms i didnt find on google or made recommendations so i can understand what matters, has made it such an amazing experience that every time now that i hear about a friend thinking about a pc they come to me for advice or i immiatly ask if they need help. so meeting linus and showing him that his efforts, and the efforts of all the people he employ, made a difference, even in our backwater fucked up country. and god knows every one in this area need some extra reasons to be happy. not that he or the others are that special, but sometime, media people need a face to face recognition that what they do is good, and even more so, meaningful.
so i hope he will have time to say hi. and if there are ltt employees reading, i sugest going to a gaming bar in tlv called level up. its kind of a gathering place for geeks from the area.

about revealing that we are from israel. i guess you know about the drawn out situation in this area and the hostility it festered in some people from both sides. unfortunately some of those people take action in severe manners (linches, hacks, threats, etc.). so we prefer to remain anonimous online (not that it's hard to figure that out). i wont go into any more details here as this forum is not about politics or the current state of affairs but if you are interested you are welcome to dm me.
