The first one, that's 2 separate PSUs.
On the Seasonic one, the molten pin is the 12V pin.

    Yep.

The RMx uses a custom design, you really can't compare them.
Knowing/assuming that Corsair has much higher QC/consistency*/safety standards than MSI (and the rest of the industry, really), I would grab an RMx over any CWT GPU based unit.

*even when there are component shortages, they never go for worse options, if they can't find equivalent options they go for an upgrade.
At that price, that's not a good choice, that's a great choice.
    Great performance, durable, ultra-quiet.
Multirail isn't that big of a deal at this wattage anyway, no need to worry.

After many delays and pushbacks, the NF-a12x25 Chromax fan is released, as well as the black NH-U12A and heatsink covers for the U12A.

    My thoughts
It took Noctua about two years to release these fans to the delight of many die hard fans, but is it too little too late? Artic, Thermaltake and Phanteks have all released competitors that perform similar, as good or in some cases slightly better than the brown NF-A12x25, while all being black (or at least dark grey), but for those who were ready to support a fan with the longest warranty, the wait is over. ASUS, can we get these on that Asus RTX3070 instead???

I havent found an online web page too purchase yet, but MSRP of these fans are $33 USD/EUR, so not a huge price hike from the brown, but not exactly competitive with the competition.

electropical got a reaction from Vishera in Crackling sound from (potentially) the power supply?
I didn't read everything, just glossed over whatever's been posted, just wanted to clarify something :

If what you refer to by "zapped me" is just a tingle, then that's leakage current coming from the device itself, not the wall plug, and that's normal.
It shouldn't severly harm you, for the most part it's just extremely annoying.

You're supposed to use properly grounded outlets to get rid of it.

But if what you refer to is an electric shock (it's brutal, and will make you jump away from the device in pain), then that's either electrostatic discharge (no big deal) or a short (dangerous).
A short should trigger the breakers, do you have a panel somewhere with breakers?
    Example :

Not that it's not good for that build, it's not good for non-220V-only mains, i.e Americas, Canada, Australia, Japan, because APFC side is a bit too weak. It would work but Jon has managed to blow up a few samples in his 90VAC burn-in tests (the reference CWT platform, not Deepcool specifically). Granted 90VAC is lower than what you'll see in these countries most of the time but voltage drops happen, and for example Japan is closer to that already since they're 100VAC.
    Because i've just fixed that.

That screw shouldn't be holding the PSU to the chassis. Make sure you take that driver bit out. If you leave it there it could short something on your motherboard.

Unscrew the 4 screws at the back of the PSU and it should slide out.

electropical got a reaction from Somerandomtechyboi in Sanity check - better bang for the buck?
    1. Overall, decent choices, with room for improvements.
    - That case is huge, if you're not buying it for the looks, cases that are a lot cheaper and a lot less bulky will still be able to do the job.
    - You're better off buying 1 affordable 2TB nvme SSD, the Samsung 980 PRO is overkill for gaming.
    - The motherboard is good.
    - The cooler is ultra-overkill for a 5600X
    - You need a power supply
    - RGB RAM spices things up, with your budget I would personally go for GSkill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3600C16

    2. How much are you paying for the 5600X? The 5600X is enough for 4K gaming, at lower resolutions the 5900x is better. Value will also depend on the price of the 5800X.

    3. in my opinion no.

    4. Unnecessary in my opinion, 32GB should be enough for any game today.

It is understood that the problem is - as you explained months ago - "noise sent down the +12 sense wire causing the supervisor IC to freak out and shut the PSU down".

But why does the system restart?

I used to believe that the only way a PSU would shut down "on its own volition" is by latching after the triggering of one of its protections.
The fact that it shuts down without latching is already surprising to me (admittedly, my knowledge is very limited), and seeing the system restart only makes things weirder.

Can you please explain what's exactly going on?

What are your plans for the future? Any idea what GPU will be replacing the GT630?

    Amazon US, I guess?

Cool, that means you've got a LOT of options, your system's power consumption really is super low.

For now, the cheapest "decent" unit I can think of for such a system would be the EVGA B5 550W at $45 (brand new, LLC + DC-DC, fully modular) :
    https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Modular-Warranty-Compact-220-B5-0550-V1/dp/B084RGH8W4/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=evga+b5+550w&qid=1630596600&sr=8-1

To me, this looks like a steal, almost too good to be true.
( @jonnyGURU : Would love to have your opinion on this unit, especially that you've probably already reviewed it).

@Filingo : Is the GT 630 a placeholder, or do you plan on keeping the system as is for a long time ?

CX is discontinued, they are not refreshing it.

Can you list the parts of your system, including the low power GPU ?
And if you provide a link to the stores you will be buying from, we can help you choose something good that will fit into your budget.

    Yes, it won't work otherwise.
The more pins on the connector, the harder it is to unplug it.
A 28 pin connector would be a nightmare to unplug.

The only available decent reviews are of 2 seperate things (and not complete reviews). A video about the fan issues and the revised edition where the noise issues are fixed. The first video is from machines&more. Just proof that the company that actually makes the psu is fast to respond. And the second video from Aris which is a test of it vs other PSUs using a 3090 (checking for transient issues I guess, and generally just testing high consumption PSUs)

The one reason I think MWE V.2 units and V-series V.2 units (generally all the new Cooler Master stuff made by Gospower) are a good buy is that even though there issues with initial production units, is because the following 2 things stand out:

    1. MWE White/Bronze are over-engineered for where they fall in their respective price class, and both White and Bronze are basically between bronze and silver in efficiency, and have more in common with more expensive PSUs than their respective competition (all the white units have been rebranded into bronze recently anyway).

    2. Gospower is really fast to respond, revise and promise to release new versions as soon as an issue pops up (Coil whine due to high ripple and other incorrectly set stuff on the White/Bronze).

    3. Gospower is really fast to respond, revise and actually release new versions as soon as an issue pops up (in the case of the SFX model, where they changed the fan behavior to fix the noise issues.

All of this points to Gospower being very eager to prove themselves, gain a foothold in the market, and gain a good reputation, which is always a good sign. Cooler Master is either playing ball (or guiding this) as smoothly as Fractal Design and there's no Gigabyte-like saving face shenanigans at play.

And most importantly the usual unpredictable timeframe for when old stock should disappear from bigger markets is mute due to the insane demand, and there's almost certainly no old stock of any of these PSUs in big markets (and frankly other than like 400-500w models, I doubt there's any old stock in smaller markets as well).
