Firewall on router os not working propperly
im_not_200iq replied to im_not_200iq's topic in Networking
Okay, but what about completely blocking internet access to certain devices? I don't care that the person can just change mac address, please don't tell me about it. I've heard it so many times and if I hear it again I'm going to loose my shit. To combat this ^ how do I block all devices that aren't in a certain list? It blocks only a few websites, but stuff like google just pass right through. -
Firewall on router os not working propperly

I will just send the config routerosisdumb.rsc -
I want to block stuff, but router Os just disregards the rules I set. It works fine for most websites, but a lot of websites such as facebook, youtube and google just bypass the firewall rules. Mikrotik forums, and their support is utterly useless. And yes, I have disabled fasttrack and fast path. Everything worked fine when I set it up for the first time, but after I rebooted my router it just stopped working.(I didn't change anything.) I hate router Os.
-
Honestly its not that big a deal. The router doesn't serve any real or important purpose, nor does it crash all the time. It was just a one time thing.
-
I did change it but it didnt save and it doesn't really matter. cant be bothered

My tp link router crashed, compleetley randomly. And when I restarted it i had some crash log. I don't know how to read these crash logs, so if anyone know what this means then that would be cool. This isn't that important, its not my main router, nor does it really serve a purpuse. I'm just curius to know if this means anything. Thanks

RouterOs is much different from your average router.
-
That wont be an issue, but how familiar are you with routeros?

I'm trying to block on a device by device basis. And I want to completely block internet access, that includes everything. Lan is fine.
-
So I'm trying to block internet access. It works partly, all the websites are blocked except google. All the google websites aren't blocked, i.e. google, YouTube, and everything else google related. So I also blocked the google dns, witch I think works. But google still doesn't get blocked. I also am trying to limit the internet speed, witch also kind of works. Only problem with that is google, it just bypasses the speed limit. tl;dr: google gae. So how do I block google, and make it comply with the firewall rules I set up.

I'm in Latvia. I spent about 220 euros on that(1 stick was 55 eur). Right now I'm thinking of exchainging that to Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, DDR4, 32GB, 3200MHz, CL16, Kit of 4. About 207euros. Is it any good?
-
@Chris Pratt @Bombastinator Thats cool and all, but 3 of 4 of my sticks died in less than 2 months.
-
So I did my first build. For my memory I used (4x) Patriot Signature Line, 8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz, CL22. And 2 sticks died only a weak in. After I found that out I ran the pc without the 2 "bad" sticks. Worked perfectly for 2 weeks. Now my browser tabs are starting to crash, the same thing happened with the faulty sticks. So I probably have another faulty stick. Is patriot really that bad? I tried to find some reviews online but couldn't really find all that much info. Am I just supper unlucky or did I make a mistake by going with patriot? I'd just like to know their reputation. Edit: I'm thinking of returning it and getting something else. Any recommendations?

Thanks, I really appreciate the help.

I'm new to overclocking and I have an AMD Radeon r7 200series. I tried overclocking it but it had some stability issues, not full on bsod, but more like graphical glitches in Minecraft. The thermal's aren't an issue. Are there just stability issues with overclocking on some cards? Or could it maybe be some thermal stuff, I get like 80 degrees. I really don't know so any help would be much appreciated.
