Keep in mind 802.11ac does have a 2.4Ghz portion. Most speed ratings are a little misleading because they add both 2.5 and 5Ghz bands together.

As above that looks like SFF-8088 for external SAS.  I have some similar ones on a H800 RAID card.
 
I'd take a look at the actual expansion card if you're able to and just pull the model off of that.

Not really, gigabit stuff is prominent at a low cost in the market.
 
In short, gigabit provides faster LAN transfers.  If you have an internet connection faster than 100 mbps you would need a gigabit environment (router, NIC etc) in order to transfer data from the internet higher than 100 mbit.

For client to client you will not need a router.
Option 1 get two 10g NICs, two 10g SFP+ Modules, and a OM3 fiber cable
Option 2 get two 10g NIC and use Direct Attached Copper
Option 3 get two 10g NIC (RJ45) and use Cat6/Cat6a cable depending on the length. This might be the best option for future expansion.

Wouldn't that be the opposite?  Client has no local storage, has to acquire all of its data over the network.
 
As per others @Vexillio at least get something with 10G uplinks.  The extra switches in line make no sense

It rather depends on if its significantly harder to run multiple cables from a central point vs a few cables to strategic points.

I know for my own network its not practical to run them all central, but certainly in the planning stage its worth considering.  If the house was empty I'd certainly be trying.

Your mileage may vary though, some people report their breakers killing the signal, others it just slows down a little.  Either way its asking a lot to get Gigabit over anything but plain ethernet.

Switch 1 port 1 > switch 4 port 4     In your diagram traffic go through the "router's SWITCH (remember a consumer grade router is a router, SWITCH, and access point in 1 unit) and back out to switch 4 port 4. It DOES NOT go through the router's portion of the "router". Layer 2 of the OSI Model
 
Switch 2 port 1 > switch 2 port 2    Traffic will NOT leave switch 2 (Unless host 1 and 2 are in different VLANs)
 
Switch 1 port 1 > Internet / different VLAN will go though the router. Router's main purpose is joining 2 different networks together
 
How about Server/ NAS > PC > one of the 4 switches....PC is connected to both server/NAS with a high speed link as well as to one of the 4 switches

Is this a desktop PC with spare PCIe ports you can use, or is it a laptop? Asking because getting a decent PCIe wifi card will perform better than most USB based WiFi adapters, so if this is for a desktop PC I'd recommend getting a TP-Link PCIe wifi adapter from Amazon. Something like the T6E is around $40 USD and handles both 2.4G and 5G wifi decently, even when connecting to a modern Wireless AC based router.

i didnt read trough all of it, because you're not searching in the entirely right direction, look for a type of access point that supports a guest network, preferably with captive portal.
 
this way you can give your guests an *actual* login, rather than just the wifi password, and you can wall them off from the rest of the network.

RDIMM is registered. UDIMM is unregisered 

You will want unregistered. Registered is for mission critical and goes along nicely with ECC. Registered ram has a "register" (go figure ) that acts a lot like cache.

You are right the h100i is too expensive for that cheap APU. I got my h100i at a stupid cheap price so I just threw it in. 
 
I would love to see a 6800k at 5GHz .
 
May I ask why you went with an APU and a 7950. IMO an fx-6300 or so would have been a better CPU.
