  1. Has anyone got displayport daisychain working? I tried on 16.04, 18.04, and now 19.04. I want to get some more monitors but ran out of ports on AMD 7979. It works fine in Windows but no worky in ubuntu 19.04 is supper buggy, but don't want to re-set up my production environment
  2. I would like to get a board with PCIe 3.0 though for 10gb nic and 10gbps USB 3.1 gen 2
  3. Thinking about this motherboard https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-S5520HC-5500-Chipset-Dual-Socket-LGA1366-ATX-Server-Motherboard-I-O-shie/123624416545?epid=74111538&hash=item1cc896e521:g:K6YAAOSwlzZbKooP Pros? Cons? I think it is ATX, up to 192gb ram
  4. I would really prefer ECC and don't need overclocking. I never bothered over clocking my FX-6300
  5. ECC DDR4 is kinda pricey due to it still being used in the enterprise and data center. Dual socket motherboards and CPUs that support DDR4 are relatively new. Looking for 1366 time period and newer. I have seen some motherboards and Cpu combos on ebay without coolers of coarse. 16gb stick is ~$20 ddr3 vs $100 ddr4
  6. Coca-cola Burn in from being on the same background for too long? Time for a new monitor?
  7. Depending on when you made the purchase, I would see what Amazon will do. Customer support from Amazon will generally take care of the purchase (the cooler) but will not be much help on the damage on the graphics card. ~ all comments are my own and not on behalf of Amazon, yea yea legal nonsense
  8. My guess is you put the static IP on the computer that is out of the subnet range.
  9. Looks like something ate through the matte coating.
  10. Hard reset the router with the button on the back Set static IP on the device. I assume you are trying to set a static IP on your computer?
  11. Hello! I am looking for a motherboard and possibly CPU SuperMicro, Asus, Gigabyte, MSI are all good IMO I currently have a FX-6300 and am happy with the performance along with a 7970. I am looking for ATX to go in a Define R4 Power supply is not an issue, would prefer single 8 pin EPS rather than 2 8 pins, not a big deal though. I would prefer to use DDR3 ECC Ram, more ram support the bettter Intel and AMD are fair game Corsair H100i, so standard mounting is ideal and single CPU On a budget, so used hardware is good Willing to trade some hardware {H100i, if dual cpus etc. 16gb ram, 8gb ram, FX-6300 and GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ } < trade? Really looking to keep case, psu ssds and replace the guts with "new" cpu(s) and ram. Ideally dual standard socket so I can continue to use my cooler, then add a cpu later. Thank you everybody!
  12. Keep in mind 802.11ac does have a 2.4Ghz portion. Most speed ratings are a little misleading because they add both 2.5 and 5Ghz bands together.
  13. For the love of all things fluffy, Please Do Not (if you even can) buy a hub. Get a switch
  14. Without logins (ssh or user control panel) you will be unable to port forward any traffic. Tt is probably against your TOS anyway.
  15. Any reason you could not use a load balancing router and not deal with the mess? I guess latency might be an issue though.
  16. For client to client you will not need a router. Option 1 get two 10g NICs, two 10g SFP+ Modules, and a OM3 fiber cable Option 2 get two 10g NIC and use Direct Attached Copper Option 3 get two 10g NIC (RJ45) and use Cat6/Cat6a cable depending on the length. This might be the best option for future expansion.
  17. Besides using a VPN, make sure to change your DNS as well.
  18. For an internet cafe 10g really is not appropriate. You mentioned disk-less systems so clients will not be transferring data anyway. Tplink makes great consumer grade stuff. For an internet cafe I would look at something like ubiquity, cisco, or ruckus depending on number of clients.
  19. I have Ubuntu and windows 10 installed on my PC. Ubuntu is fine, but everyone i switch back to windows I have to unplug and plug back in the wifi adapter. Windows 10 seems to be fussy when it comes to wifi adapters, I have been through three. Does yours happen to be a wireless N adapter by tp-link?
  20. I believe you can set time limits with open dns as well as block certain sites at the dns level.
  21. Not necessarily the same circuit, but they don't like to be separated at the meter level for sure, also they don't like surge protectors
  22. Nope, just the crap the ISP gives you
