i would try with xmp disabled, and 1 stick of ram at a time to rule out ram. i'm assuming temps for cpu and gpu are good?

@PineyCreek @Eigenvektor @Master Disaster thank you all for taking time to reply. Searched the hardware IDs, turns out it's a USB C port policy controller for my graphics card. I don't use VR so it's not really an issue for me. Thanks for helping me with this!

    4) Paste it into Google and hit search

If you get no results then try doing the shortest one at the bottom of the list instead. If you take a screenshot then we can help you look.

This could be any device connected to the PCI bus,  most likely some device on the motherboard itself. It does not necessarily refer to an add-in card like your GPU.

You could look at the board manufacturer's drivers. Maybe you'll see one that stands out to you as something your board has and is missing.

Copy or show what's in the events and resource and details tabs.  Copy and search for device ID strings, etc.  You are showing the one screen of the device properties that has the least amount of information other than we can now know it's PCI-related.  Also there's loads of PCI bus related devices on a motherboard that aren't your GPU.  Did you try the Update Driver button?

Ever install the AMD Chipset drivers?

It might boot a few seconds quicker with UEFI, but other than that there's absolutely no difference in your case. Once you're booted MBR (BIOS) and GPT (UEFI) perform identically.

There is a very heavy performance hit (near 75% performance loss) for using GPT if you have very old hardware that wasn't built to support GPT, but that's a nonissue here.

That link will work fine, but honestly I'd say just leave it as is. The primary reason to use GPT is if you have a drive larger than 2 TB, and even then the partition scheme of your OS drive doesn't matter as long as the >2 TB disk is GPT.

Without even googling that, I know exactly what you mean!  I've completely avoided RGB, it does look cool when it's done well but I'd rather look at my screen.

Thanks both of you for the explanation, really helped me to understand it.

A lot of boards have the connector for marketing reasons (so kids can say they have a board that has it, after they have watched channels like gamers nexus that do show-boating overclocking labratory style with barrels of liquid nitrogen).

A lot of times though, its really there for nothing as even if connected and used with ln2 many boards vrms would fry when shoving that much power (tomahawk x570 vrm could do it though, these are extremely strong, but even then it would not be used for ln2 most likely as it lacks other features required for doing extreme overclocks).

Its such a rare use case that consumer psus dont really have a need for the extra cable as it would only increase cost significantly (compared to the extra 4 pin connector thats likely just a 5ct part addition for the board). Those who spend the extra on barrels of ln2, monitoring equipment etc, theyll have the resources to feed that 4pin using either a 2nd powersupply, or some lab setup stuff thats over the top beyond normal psu power delivery.

For the average consumer its like RGB "ooooohhh coooooooolllll" but any board could live without it  (but hey, why not put 10cts worth of components on a board if by doing so you can raise its price by 10 bucks ).

To see this marketing work in "the wild" do a forum search on "motherboard" and "looks poor", and find those who think the amount of components on a pcb or their "look" represents "quality".

nope, some boards add the extra eps connector.

@Bartholomew, @TofuHaroto, thanks very much, I really appreciate the help! I couldn't find any info at all on what the connector was for. So is that a standard thing then? How come Corsair don't support it at all?

You only need the 8 pin. The extra 4 pin is used for heavy overclocking like ln2. Which with Ambient cooling you won't really be able to do.
Also the single 8 pin can provide 384w of power easily. Which with then a hammered 3950x. You won't really reach..

You dont need it, the board will run fine without, even with a oced 3950x.

Only when going sub zero using liquid nitrogen youd mit need it.

Unfortunately I need it sooner than the published release dates for Zen 3 and Ampere, and to be honest I'd worry that if I wait, they'll just be mega expensive and I'll end up going with this stuff anyway. I need a decent set up for some work I'm doing, so can't really afford to wait.

Funny enough, after posting here and one other forum, and doing a bit of research, I've already changed the RAM and case fans to the ones you've chosen. Sill debating the 2060 Super vs 2070 Super, but I'm leaning towards the 2070.

The Fractal case is my B option, if I can find something with a drive bay that looks like it actually has decent airflow and doesn't look like it was designed to suit a child that has been watching Transformers too much, then that's already my main choice for a 0 drive bay case.

Thanks for you're input, it's definitely reassured me with some of my choices! And thanks for taking the time to post

Well, that is what the company itself said. From my personal perspective, it is better to be safe when it comes to PSU. Since PSU is like the heart of the system, and if it fails, it will damage the other parts. Tbh, it is interesting that 450W already enough for to run 2070Super, thanks for the info tho.
