  1. Seagate itself makes it confusing because they put both model numbers on the data sheet. One theory I had in mind is maybe one of them is those silly "frustration free" box packaging but I could not confirm that anywhere. Idk maybe there is no difference. thank you for replying
  2. I am trying to purchase the Seagate barracuda SSD but I noticed that across different stores, the Seagate Barracuda 120 SSD has slightly different model numbers, in fact NewEgg has both models listed: ZA1000CM1A003 and ZA1000CM10003. Anyone know what's the difference? It's not only NewEgg, B&H also lists ..A003 model but Amazon 1003. I posted the question several days ago but no one knew the answer for certain. So I try to ask again, hopefully someone could help.
  3. does that mean you gonna have a separate Program Files folder on each hard drive?
  4. When you install programs, the Windows usually installs them in the Program Files on C drive. My question is if I install a second hard drive can I install some (not all, meaning certain programs still stay on C drive) on the other hard drive and use them while running Windows from the C drive?
  5. Does anyone know the website to check which types of video decoding AMD graphics cards support? I found the NVIDIA one: https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix It's very detailed and clear but I can't find AMD's anywhere

  8. I agree NVMe would be better (and some of them not even much more expensive that SATAs) but my motherboard doesn't support it and I don't really want to spend money now to build new system. On paper, Barracuda is even a tiny bit faster with the sequential speeds, it's just its DRAM is 1/4 size of EVO and DDR3 instead of DDR4 but I don't know if that's gonna matter in real life usage?
  9. I am thinking 860 EVO or Barracuda 120, the thing is that both 1TB storage but EVO has 1GB DDR4 DRAM but Barracuda 256 MB DDR3. Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that DRAM is really just used for the mapping tables, so 256MB should also be enough, right?
  10. I understand that SSD with cache memory are better than DRAM-less. I am shopping for one right now and found out that some SSDs have DDR3 and other DDR4 DRAM and the size of the DRAM also varies between brands 128 MB, 256 MB or 1GB (for the same storage capacity). But I could not find any info on whether it matters or not. If anyone has any knowledge or experience, please clarify this.
  11. lol, I have 1080p right now but I want to get a 4K and if I am gonna get that monitor, I would just want to stream videos in 4K on places like Youtube, Netflix etc.
  12. I was thinking so too that as long GPU is capable enough that it should be fine but what made me doubt and seek help here on the forum is that in his video the task manager shows CPU usage 90% and he has just that 4K video on youtube open in Chrome and nothing else (minute 3:25 in the video)
  13. I have Asus Z87 Pro with core i5-4670. I am thinking of purchasing a 4K monitor and I thought if I also get a graphics card (something like Radeon RX 5500 XT or GTX 1650) I that I should be fine but recently saw Anthony's video with the 3rd gen core i7 stuttering on 4K video and so I don't know if my 4th gen i5 will do same thing and what type of upgrade I should do so that 4K is smooth. Any help or ideas really appreciated.
