I'm going to assume there is an automated script that did this but one of the scam videos is being advertised here: -
YouTube removes Picture in Picture support from their website on iOS
ApexMeteor replied to Drazil100's topic in Tech News
Youtube is aslo removing the Watch on TV feature, which allows non-chromium browsers to "cast" a video to a TV without needing chromecast. I guess it wasn't a very popular feature but it is another way Google is forcing chrome on users -
And the weirdest thing is that the Mini is now more expensive than the new iPad.

Windows 10 Ameliorated Ordered to cease operations due to LTT video

yes, because elitism and hoarding fixes everything. -
Your point is valid. In both Amazon Prime and Netflix (and probably many others) the user can pay for a subscription on the provider's website and download the app on the App Store to consume that content. Sounds fair if it remains like so. I personally used to subscribe Spotify when I still had an iPhone and I would always pay for it directly on Spotify's website, especially because they offered a better annual rate. So it really doesn't bother me that Apple charges for the convenience of an user to sub the same service directly on iOS. There are alternatives and that's why some of the discussion around Apple sounds very hypocritical. If users find it more difficult to sub directly on the website, don't blame Apple but your web developers and UX design team for not making the best experience for costumers. Still many issues to address on all mobile platforms, but the IAP debacle is just noise

People through the Amazon Prime stone often in this argument. I might be mistaken here but Apple charges 15% for video streaming subscriptions. But it's funny that no one mentions that Apple charges 0% for IAP of physical goods (e.g. Starbucks app)

The difference is that, although flawed, the US is still a democracy (according to the Democracy Index) while the CCP resembles a throwback of the Nazi Party, not excluding territorial invasion, minorities persecution, nationalist blustering and concentration camps. Even considering the setbacks the US has seen lately, I'd still trust the US government more, if the only other option was the Chinese regime.

Apple Maps is not really their competitors. OSM, Mapbox or Here pose as bigger competitors than Apple Maps currently is. I honestly don't understand what's Apple's vision, except for offering a bare bones mapping in their ecosystem. Except for DDG deal, it seems they aren't fully invested on it, after all these years. The state TomTom currently is, Apple's main map data provider, probably doesn't help either.

The way Aussies search every day on Google is at risk from new regulation
ApexMeteor replied to GeeKayK's topic in Tech News
Interesting to read a different take on this. I first read about this on slashdot and the way it reads it's more about forcing Google to negotiate with the publishers to come up with an ad revenue sharing scheme. Honestly that sounds fair. Google News doesn't work in Spain because they refused to share ad revenue with the publishers and/or pay a tax to compensate publishers from Google using links to their sources and ultimately reducing site traffic and ad revenue. Either by the inability to adapt to the new technologies or unfair competition from Google and Facebook, newspapers and the press is general are going through a rough patch, and they still play an important role on our societies. -
Definitely yes! Apple makes it very hard to use third-party app stores. And that should be something that should change. I've transitioned to Android since version 7, if not mistaken. I still have my older iPhones and I've played with jailbreak. It's a pain and honestly the community can be quite toxic (e.g. the subreddit is an example). Android was a bit hard to get use to root but ince I figured it out, I was a breeze and man...the options it provides are amazing!
