  1. I am buying an M1 Mac mini for my mother (dont ask, she uses macos for design work) and she has a mid 2011 21.5" iMac that she would like to use as a monitor (again, i cant convince her to get a proper monitor which would be much nicer, but its atleast got a 1440p retina display anyway) my question - does anyone know of a veritafiable hdmi to thunderbolt (see pic attached) cable that will allow her to use the iMac as a monitor for the m1 mac. ive had issues in the past with non bi-directional cables and everything, and it would be really great to just have something that actually works. btw, this is thunderbolt not mini dp. final clarification. HDMI output from M1 mac, to Thunderbolt display input on 2011 iMac Thanks so much for any advice!
  2. me too... i think all the stock is gone now though :( guess all there is to do now is keep waiting.
  3. Title says it all... Was having a very irritating and persistent issue where my PC would randomly wake up after i put it to sleep (around 5-10 mins after, sometimes longer) Since this issue persisted even after I reset and defaulted power settings I decided to do some digging through event viewer and found this (1st image), from what i can see it looks like malwarebytes, which i have installed on my pc, keeps waking the system for 'serivceinstallation'. (drivers) Knowing that all my dirvers are up to date, i looked up what this 'MBAMSwissArmy' program was, and I discovered that it seems pretty harmless, just some software that allows Malwarebytes to communicate with hardware, but my question stands - why would it need to reinstall WHILE THE PC IS ASLEEP for gods sake when I've already fully installed the antivirus?
  4. yeah, especially since we know Ryzen loves fast ram Also (correct me if wrong) but dosent the Infinity fabric max out at about 1.8Ghz? Running memory uncoupled from it probably isnt great...
  5. There are a few things to take into account here that you have addressed, such as personal aesthetic preferences and cooling potential. A Corsair 360mm AIO will handle any processor at stock great, and will be able to cool the CPU quietly. You do also acknowledge that reliability is a factor to take into account with liquid coolers, as there is more danger of damaging components if anything were to fail or break. On the other hand, large tower coolers can plenty cool a high end CPU such as the 3700x you speak of; Some coolers to consider are the NH U12-S that you speak of and also the NH D-15 (perhaps if you plan on overclocking, or just even more quiet). It really depends on your use case, and from experience i would reccomend sticking with noctua coolers for performance and acoustics, and its also nice that there are cromax black options now. That being said, it still comes down to personal preference.
  6. Yep, QuickSnap is it, just checked out. Video seems informative and reasonably easy, Thanks for the quick reply. Solved.
  7. hi there, kind of new here. I have a question regarding compatability with aftermarket fans on Coolermaster tower CPU coolers: Has anybody attempted to replace the stock RGB fan on the Coolermaster Hyper212 Led with a noctua nf a12x25 fan? I know that these fans are known for being insanely quiet, and as a quietness freak i am replacing all of my system fans with noctua fans. However, the stock fan on the Hyper 212 has a clip style system for mounting, and I am unsure of the compatability between the noctua fan and the cooler. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
