Hi there! First time builder here.
I decided to build a test-bench out of the motherboard box, just to see if everything worked before I put it into the PC. ... (Narrator: It didn't)
I have been troubleshooting this for 8 hours, and I'm feeling very anxious, did I just blow all this money for something that won't boot.... I would really appreciate any help I can get... Thanks in advance
What's wrong:
The system and components receive power but doesn't output anything to the monitor, basically can't enter the BIOS. Monitor just acts like there's is no signal.
- The EZ LED Sequences is also inconsistent in what it tells me, so can't really narrow it down
What's happening/What works: Here's a video for you convenience
- RAM is seated correctly and all necessary cables connected
- HDMI Cable is Connected from GPU to Monitor
- Motherboard, CPU, and CPU Cooler all have power
- Motherboard turns on, and goes through debug procedures (EZ Debug LED Lights)
- CPU cooler fans spin, GPU fans do nothing at all
- Keyboard lights up (I'm assuming this a good sign?)
What I've Tried to Fix It:
- Reinspect all connections, and ensure everything is seated correctly and wired.
- Moved the GPU to a different PCIE Slot
- Reset CMOS
- Updated BIOS (Using USB-Button Method)
- Re-seated CPU, and CPU Cooler, RAM, etc.
- Booted w/ only 1 RAM Stick
- Booted with and without NVME M.2 Card
- Power cycled
- Tried w/ No USB, No Keyboard, and No RGB
- Changed HDMI Cable, and tested different Monitor
- Tried different power outlet
- Wired 5700XT w/ 8Pin Connector, and also 8pin + 6pin so all connections are filled
Parts List:
- Ryzen 3700X w/ Stock Prism Cooler
- MSI MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI
- Sapphire PULSE 5700XT
- 32 GB DDR4 3200MHZ 16CAS
- MasterWatt 650 Watt Semifanless Modular Power Supply, 80 PLUS
I am really starting to lose hope here, and I'm worried that I will have to replace or RMA most of my components, because I can't really seem to isolate the issue here. I would love any ideas or thoughts...
Thank you so much!!
