  1. He just ordered an XPS with 4TB so that should take care of it. Will Dropbox let other services back it up? I assume not.
  2. Hi all, My dad has been backing up his business files (a few terabytes) to Dropbox for years now. He's using Carbonite to back up his files from his computer, but those files are just "shell" files that link to the Dropbox file. He initially wanted to get a laptop with enough storage to back up the real files to Carbonite and have them on Dropbox (to eliminate the "shell" files) but the only laptops we could find with 2TB of storage were beefy gaming monsters. My dad doesn't really want to get an external drive because then he has to plug it in constantly to sync with Dropbox and Carbonite. We were also thinking of getting a PC just to store these files, almost to act as like a personal server, do you guys have any ideas for a way to store these files so they can be synced to Dropbox and backed up to Carbonite but my dad physically has them if anything goes wrong with Dropbox/the real files are getting backed up to Carbonite? Thanks.
  3. OP means hot-swappable switches. It's a thing in the mechanical keyboard community.
  4. Appreciate it! Just some thoughts I had. Thanks!
  5. Budget: USD, no budget currently Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe suite, rendering, gaming, basic stuff Other details: My current PC plays games fine, runs Blender great the last I checked, and does everything fine. However, it's getting more and more outdated with a 1660 Ti and a 9th generation i5. For future games that I'm excited about, like Star Wars Outlaws, Jedi 3 (Survivor is already running meh on this PC) and whatever else I choose to play or do on this computer, will this be too outdated? I was thinking of maybe getting a laptop at some point and docking it, or a MacBook and then a console. I also have a 27 inch 1080p monitor and I've wanted to move to 1440p or 4k for awhile (1440p for games, is there a way to auto switch the resolution from 4k to 1440 when opening a game?). These are just a bunch of thoughts I have and I was wondering if the games coming out in the near future are going to start to be too much for this computer. I'm also running out of space on my 1TB NVMe SSD. Recommended upgrades? Course of action?

    Windows theme

This might get you there a bit of the way: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ This will change back the Start Menu: https://www.stardock.com/products/start11/ I got used to it, and don't have any issue with it now. Personally, I think it looks good, but it is a little jarring coming straight from Windows 10. You can change to the dark theme in Settings > Personalization > Themes, but that's about as far as you'll go without extra software. Check out the links, and if in the end you don't see any good options, just roll back to Windows 10. You should be able to find it in Settings > Update somewhere if it hasn't been that long. Like @Needfuldoermentioned it has some updates left (Oct. 14, 2025 is the end of support). It's still a perfectly good OS.
  7. The AOC 24 seems to be out of stock most places, and I’m hesitant to recommend him a 1080p 27’’ monitor even though I use one myself. Any second choices?
  8. I mean, what does the term IPS mean when you say an IPS monitor? This is the panel type, right?
  9. I’ve heard the term IPS thrown around a lot and I’m never sure exactly what it means.
  10. My friend has an Acer Nitro 5 with an i5-10300H and a 3050 Mobile. He wants to shop for a monitor that has a minimum of 144hz and a minimum size of 24’’. He’s shopping in the $200-400 range and is mainly playing Fortnite. Suggestions?
  11. Does the fan of the computer just blow out a ton of warm air, or is this done through a special setup? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
  12. Appreciate it. So the computer, when at full load, is generating enough heat to heat a room? Or was that a joke that they were using their computer to heat their room?
  13. Sorry, I'm confused. How would folding heat your room?
  14. Thanks! Not a game changer in a sense of something new to the scene, but a game changer in the sense that when you add it to your setup it opens up the whole sound and gives it detail and warmth that was not available before.
  15. Audioquest Dragonfly Black v1.5 is my recommendation. Literally a USB Stick, it's a DAC/Amp that delivers great performance for only $120. You can make it work with iPhone and Anrdoid, too. A game changer.
  16. Surprised to see Cooler Master on the list but glad that a gaming company can make something good.
  17. I really don't think the Samson's are that bad, seeing as I've only heard @OfficialTechSpacesay that they're bad, but I've never tried them.
  18. Alright then. His channel is quite audio centric and I would consider his credentials and his interests as making him an audiophile, but I'm not one to argue.
  19. These are super cheap, and a highly regarded audiophile channel, DankPods, really rates them. Supposedly they have a fun sound. Order them from amazon and return if you don't like em, worth a shot at least right? https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=asc_df_B002LBSEQS/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241989349889&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8562223722240173757&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9003509&hvtargid=pla-406179073858&psc=1

    Does this exist?

Any watches that come to mind that don’t necessarily have a full touch screen but just have a screen?
