One of my finalists was the True Spirit, but I didn't realize there were two versions. Do you know if either of them would work with an Intel i7-10700? Are you saying in that post the Power is better? Isn't the Direct more recent? I'm basically looking for something that strikes a middle ground between great airflow for a mild overclock and quiet - my pick so far being the d15 until I heard about this low key but great cooler that doesn't get the hype it deserves. Tired of reviewing air coolers.

Thought I'd get some advice. Things to keep in mind: I'm mostly into gaming, want to get into streaming, like to multitask, don't need bleeding edge, and would rather avoid water cooling. So I am likely going to be getting a free EVGA Z490 FTW. Now, there's a sale on the Intel Core i7-10700 on Newegg ($439 CAD). I'm really tempted to buy now, it is 20% off and I don't know how long that will be. Should I go for it? Keep waiting till November for possibly a better deal? Is it even a good match for that motherboard? Or would it be better to get a i5-10600k ($400 CAD but currently out of stock; $30 difference) and overclock it with this mobo? And losing out on 2 more cores. Basically, would a $400 overclocked 10600K be better value than a $430 10700 for longterm? The 10700k is $130 more at $589 CAD. And doesn't seem worth that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I know its a bit of a toss up, why seagate for you? I think I would have sprung for the toshiba but I keep reading about the noise. I don't mind because I already lived with loud fans but hard to know if this is worse. Is it whine of spin or clacking sound?

I'm interested in expanding my storage and looking out for ~4TB options. I currently still using a Seagate (Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS) and a Hitatchi (HDP725050GLA360) drive from circa 2006 without any failures (did I just get lucky?). As far as I can tell these were regular consumer facing drives but I'd like to replicate the durability for the next 10 years if possible. My main drive will be SSD. Specifically though, if I get a NAS drive for mostly music, video, backup images and that won't necessarily be in raid / NAS box, am I risking anything? If there is a great sale, I could get a second one for RAID 1 but is that sensible if I'm doing it off the motherboard? Additionally, has the tech improved that I'm not going to regret getting 5400/5900rpm vs the 7200 I have now? The IronWolf looks like a deal if its reliable... Toshiba looks good, is the performance for storage worth premium over the Ironwolf? There's also WD Blue that I haven't listed here.
