  1. *cough*, meant C. 90C... 90F wouldn't be so bad threw old cooler on and working fine
  2. oh, nvm. think I found the issue. started up Aida64. apparently my watercooler is dead. considering my CPU is idling at 90F....
  3. As the title states, I was playing Warframe when my PC froze suddenly and was unresponsive. After several moments it went to a BSOD with the only notice being WHEA_uncorrectible_error. After restarting the entire system seems horribly slow, and even webpages take awhile to load up. I restarted once more, and even posting took forever. To be safe I turned off the overclock to the same result. Everything from POST to in windows now drags horribly. Games are utterly unplayable. Been a great Christmas.. Here's links to the dmp and perfmon https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kkGo5gT4uyJoBHp73YpTrfsk0QPqVwcP/view?usp=sharing OS - Windows 10 x64 retail -original install -since built about Nov 2015 i7 5820k @4.2 now turned down to stock) EVGA 980ti Classified MSI X99A SLI Plus CM1200 Any help is greatly appreciated. Merry Xmas.
  4. Oh yes, I've absolutely no doubt my FX is hampering performance. My thing is I did not have such noticeable stuttering (in actual) before experimenting with Win 10. I'm not saying you're wrong as I'm not nearly smart enough to argue that, I just don't get it. I had been assuming maybe it was poor drivers.
  5. I would reiterate what pretty much everyone else is saying, if you can at all swing things to work out to get an i5 or even an i3 I would recommend going that route over the AMD option. Much like that amazingly long post above explained, if you're planning on gaming you'll really be glad you did.
  6. Its been said likely well more than enough already, but as an AMD FX owner... I'd go for the i5.
  7. CPU: FX-9370 @ 4.85 GPU: 2x R9 290 @ 1025/1350 Firestrike: 12483 GPU Score: 21874 Physics Score: 8903 Combined: 3452 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5247265 Firestrike Extreme: 7875 GPU Score: 9457 Physics Score: 8868 Combined: 3252 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5247393 Firestrike Ultra: 4643 (4632 on 2nd run) GPU Score: 4840 (4839) Physics Score: 9337 (8981) Combined: 2255 (2263) http://www.3dmark.com/fs/5247003 Interesting my Physics score was ~400 points higher at 4k the first time, so I ran it again and got... http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/7548512? I changed literally nothing between these runs... Oh well
  8. So, I've noticed since switching to Windows 10 insider I've had some awful stuttering. I tried dropping everything back to stock speeds and its not helped, so I put the system back to just under what I had stable on Win 7 for now. I'm not certain if its bad drivers/ Crossfire support or what. Going to try disabling crossfire and seeing if that helps. Seems my scores reflect this. Also running FS Ultra shows a similar result with my GPU score dropping dramaticly, though CPU score is similar to what it was. The stuttering isn't so noticeable at 1080 but at 4k it is unbearable. Even not noticing the stuttering at 1080 my score still seems lower at 1080 than I would have expected. Though I do imagine its lack of full driver support as of yet. Going to try a single card and see what it looks like. Anyway, for now: CPU: FX-9370 @ 4.8 GPU: 2x R9 290 @ 1000/1320 Average FPS: (1080p) 3255 - (4k) 77.8 Score: (1080p) 3255 - (4k) 1176 1080p: Anyway, thoughts, comments and/or ideas welcome. Update: Single GPU 4k
  9. Aha, Thanks, I'll have to try that.. so weird.
  10. Okay, so this has been going on for awhile (about 6 months) now and its getting very annoying. My screen will turn black when streaming videos or watching a movie from the disk either one. Its only consistent in that videos are the only thing that causes it, otherwise sometimes I can go days with no issue and sometimes it'll do it 3-4 times within an hour. It only occurs when actually viewing the video, if I'm tabbed to another page it never happens. Similarly I can play even the newest games for 12+ hours and have never experienced an issue. The only way to get off the black screen (sometimes audio keeps going, sometimes not) is to completely power down and restart the PC. I've tried updating video drivers a few times, even trying new beta drivers, and trying to revert drivers, I've tried turning back all my overclocks to stock, etc.... I've also updated flash player several times. That said it doesn't seem to matter if I'm straming, using WMP, Quicktime, or whatever... It just hates videos apparently. Current specs: AMD FX 9370 @ 5.0 ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z AMD R9 290 Reference @ stock 16 GB G. Skill ram Corsair CX750 PSU Any ideas or thoughts to what could be the issue would be so very appreciated, this is getting on my last nerve.
  11. I've watched all the way till halfway through season 7.. personally I just don't feel the series is as good after some things happen that I won't say cause spoliers.
  12. Neverwinter Nights! Twelve year old game and still rocks, even if the graphics are severely dated. More specifically The Ravenloft PW, which is still chugging along despite Gamespy and Bioware dropping support, the community is still quite alive. Aside from that, bouncing around between Age of Wonders 3 (Which I'm actually very disappointed with), Diablo 3 RoS, and Dragon Age: Origins. Oh.. Also Skyrim if my new GPU ever gets here.. -.-
  13. Great ambient music for when I'm playing my ancient game online, known as Neverwinter Nights. Nox Arcana - Night of the Wolf Also So Doom. Much Metal Draconian - The Last Hour of Ancient Sunlight
  14. Finished all the episodes there were of Fairy Tail umm... almost two years ago, thats the last time I watched anime until yesterday.. just now catching up on what's came out since.. And watched Angel Beats again.
