thisisderpy reacted to JZStudios in Youtube broken?
It seems to have fixed itself this morning, but it was still a weird thing to happen.

thisisderpy reacted to minibois in PC WONT COME UP ON MONITOR BUT WILL HALF POWER UP
Can you please turn off Caps Lock and explain your issue in a bit more detail?
Like, what is 'half power up'?
Does the PC work with another monitor/does the monitor work with another PC/laptop?
Do you have a picture of what SATA issue you're dealing with?
What are the PC parts are you using?

Only Alienware could have a green PCB graphics card, blue PCB motherboard, ketchup and mustard cables and a non-powder coated case and power supply in 2020. I guess they just really love nostalgia.

thisisderpy reacted to Pickles von Brine in Android is now the world’s largest earthquake detection network
Wait wait wait. What? Huh? Now this is pretty cool. The ability to use acceremeters in phones to detect earthquakes? I had no idea they were that sensitive. You could use this to create an early detection system! Especially if you are in an affected area or not sure if you are in an affected area. The other part is how it is being rolled to anything running android 5.0 and up! So many devices. So much data! If someone was a seismologist, I am sure they would be excited to have access to this info. Plus, it looks like this is in near real time, so 10s of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of devices detecting things could be interesting.
Then again, this is just me rambling. Either way, some cool stuff! 😎

thisisderpy reacted to zeusthemoose in Apple quietly ditches AMD
I don’t see how they could ditch AMD (unless they switch to Nvidia?) because there’s no way Apple will be able to make a gpu powerful enough for professional use case in the next couple of years.

thisisderpy reacted to Spotty in I have a problem with RGB Fusion 2.0
> Moved to Programs, Apps, and Websites
My experience with Gigabyte's RGB Fusion has not been great. I've had nothing but problems with it since I got my Gigabyte GTX1080Ti.... 3 years ago!!!! How they have not been able to make a decent bit of software to control RGB yet is beyond me.
I've honestly just given up on it. Got to a point where I was able to disable the RGB on the graphics card and have left it like that and not even attempted to open the program since for fear of angering the Gigabyte Gods and being punished with RGB that I cannot control.
If you can use an alternative program for controlling the RGB.

thisisderpy got a reaction from mePotatoboy in I have a problem with RGB Fusion 2.0
Generally I've found RGB Fusion to be incredibly unreliable all the time, even before 2.0, so I'm not surprised you're having trouble with it. If possible I'd just recommend you use some other software, like OpenRGB (I suggest it mainly because it's open source).

Steam has added Flick Stick, shown off in this video, to Steam. Making it the best way to use that feature with proper X-input support and an actual UI.

thisisderpy reacted to crackmanman in Millions of degrees
Okay so, funny thing right. I get these temperature warnings from the program AEGIS 3, and usually it works just fine but- the last two days it's been acting up.
Today a few minutes ago, I got a warning that said my computer was 4654357 degrees. Now, I'm not one to brag but... I'd say computer's sizzling hot my dudes.
For real though, anyone know what that could be?
edit: For more info, MSI Afterburner shows all my temps normally. No millions of degrees.

thisisderpy reacted to GumblesGrambles in Dear Linus, re: the arbiter of truth
No, quite the opposite, we have people educated in stupidity now, The cult like double speak now flows from the tongues of the new elites which have been over produced thanks to lowered standards and massive levels of debt. Intersectionality alone is pure sophistry, Orwellian redefinition's to apply every double standard possible.
Linus doesn't know what he's asking for when he asks for more. Being from Canada where his news is second hand CNN no doubt there is plenty he has not seen. What is truth? Which religion is true? Facebook has been wiping out legitimate political parties Facebook pages. Even skeptics aren't safe, notably anti Islam groups who can cite chapter and verse of contradiction in their fact checks, but these fact checks are "hate speech" to Facebook, you see how that works. What's true doesn't actually matter, and no silly examples of hippy crystals really deals with this reality. Clearly Linus leans a bit left, and most of the cherished unquestioned presuppositions of that ideology do not survive fact checks. Evolution implies inequality, diversity entrenches this inequality into reality, any questions, any science is simply suppressed.
One can really sum up "hate speech" as blasphemy, everything makes sense after that, so the there is no answer for Linus, let alone one one he can just demand "more" of.
As for who is doing the subjective calls, lets just say they aren't hiring phd's from philosophy departments

thisisderpy reacted to mr moose in Dear Linus, re: the arbiter of truth
It's not about chat. It's about all content. and common sense as it was conventionally considered is not common, very few people have enough sense to innately know when to switch of something because it is poorly founded or dangerous.
There is a reason a certain number of people will abjectly dismiss rational or evidential realities, it's because they either don't like that reality or they aren't smart enough to be able to comprehend said issue/condition. Either way they are displaying a distinct lack of common sense or are idiots. If you can find evidence of being able to educate idiots then please post it, other wise I'm going to refer you to Jordan Peterson and his explanation of the US armies studies into IQ.
Armed forces reference from 7 Minutes.

@James Aplin My heart go out to you, my grandfather passed away to cancer.
Just as an fyi to you, your post, personal as it is, it is still a Status Update type of post.
I will leave this open (unlocked) but in the future please be mindful of where you post.
May God's mercy be on you and watch over you in your journey.

Thank you for sharing your story. I really wish you manage to beat it. Don't give up.
I can't say I relate to what you're going through, since I've only experienced it second hand from seeing my mother(57) go through it.
Long story : (I don't think I've ever written about this before... or at least, not in details)
(tl;dr : she passed away this past January after 2 years of fighting, her at home doctor was impressed, not many live that long with the type of cancer she had)
I'm just glad she didn't have to go through her cancer AND Covid.
I know it is a horrible experience for you, but please, live life to the fullest, don't give up right away.
I don't know if you have anyone who cares for you like I cared for my mother.
But even if you don't, the least you can do is enjoy the rest of your life fully and live for yourself.
Chemo might make you sick, you may lose your hair, you'll lose a ton of weight... But keep eating even if the food becomes taste less, keep pushing through and screw your appearance. Own it like a champ.
The longer you can live, the more you'll be giving the middle finger to that God damn cancer. Don't let it win without a fight.
I wholehearted wish that you manage to beat it.

You absolutely need to seek treatment after being bit by one, regardless. Uncontrollable spasms and serious hypertension/stroke is no joke.
