  1. Yep. thanks for the info... I finally managed to track down the information on their website indicated ... "Only Intel/AMD processors (with AVX Instruction Set) are supported at this time. " in the fine print .. and sur eenough, Xeon W3680 do not support AVX... Either way.. time to build a new PC then .....
  2. Well.. firstly, Iwant the official wording that "Yes, that CPU is not support, due to etc etc etc reason". and secondly, I requesting for a refund because of their miscommunication. Before you say they won't refund, someone I know actually got refund from Activision/Blizzard due to similar issue. As any software/gaming company, they would most likely would like yo have consumers to feed back on your product, such as any unforeseen bugs, shortfall and possible "miscommunication". AND also, if they finally have proper outline of "minimal" requirements such as Gen 4 and above Intel CPUs( Microsoft has specified Minimal of 10th gen Intel CPU for Window 11), then consumers like me wouldn't made the mistake of purchased the product, and only upon installed and launch then found out CPU is not supported, and asking for refund.
  3. Yeah, I suspect as much. and like I mentioned, I suspect its about minimal CPU architecture not CPU clock speed But, surely they should specify a bit more, as If it works on Cod MW, Warzone and Black Ops Cold War.. consumer similar to me would have thought it will works as well. Anyway, I logged a support call with Activision, see what they say.
  4. Abit of annoyance really..... Accordance to CoD Vanguard minimal CPU requirement is i3-4340K, MY CPU Xeon W3680 should be more than sufficient in terms of CPU speed, but when I try to launch it..... Lord and behold...... CPU is not supported....... So I suspect they SHOULD have said..... minimal requirement of Intel 4th Gen i3 Haswell CPU architect ...... so that way, consumer like me with Xeon 3680 Westmere CPU will not make the mistake of spending AUD$99 to purchase the game.. and now I have to upgrade my PC just so I can play it ........
  5. Cheers mate.... Think I will strip out of the W3680 out of my daughter's machine and give her my X5687 instead.....
  6. Firstly... explain what is the problem in details... also, your system specs ?
  7. Hi, Just after some advice CPU comparisons for CoD Warzone. Which would you get better performance when playing games like CoD Warzone when it utilise CPU as much as GPU. - 4C8T with higher clock speed, - or 6C12T with slightly lower clock speed. I am currently running a Xeon X5687 which is 4C8T with 3.6Ghz base and 3.86Ghz Max Turbo. I have access to another CPU, Xeon W3680 which is 6C12T with 3.33Ghz Base and 3.6Ghz Max turbo.... So I am wondering if it is worth while to switch my system to W3680 for more core.... (note: I am not overclocking the CPU, as I am running this in a Dell motherboard, so no option to overclock). Thanks in advance !
  8. For MSI Radeon RX570 versus Gigabyte RX570 Windforce, Are there there any differences at all between these two brand ? I mean they both are RX570 with 8gb GDDR5........and both have similar design in terms of 2x fan and heatsinks....... I just cant see why they have different pricing.... If were you, which one you prefer ???
  9. A little bit of update...... Managed to score a RX 570 8gb and installed into the machine. No crashes for 2 days... so sort of confirm the GPU is causing the crashes in my daughter's machine. Might place that into my machine to run a few to double confirm that is the case.
  10. Sorry... a bit confused here.... Extend function is exactly that....... I can run CoD Warzone in one screen, while website/Youtube on another monitor using the "Extend Desktop" function without a problem.... So not quite sure what you are asking.......
  11. Sorry, haven't try it yet. I live in Victoria, Australia where we are in stage 3 lockdown, and kids are remote learning form home. So didn't want to interrupt my daughter's studying. Will try that this weekend...
  12. Mmm interesting. might have to look into USB port.... thanks ! Thanks. I might give that a go and see if still happening. I might try swap my RX 580 into her machine and put her R9 290 into mine to see if that fix her problem and duplicate the same problem of R9 290 on my machine........
  13. Just Wonder if anyone can help here. I retro fit a Dell Precision T3500 for my daughter with new CPU, PSU and added my hold GPU Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X 4gb. A new fresh Window 10 is installed as well, so it is a clean machine from the get go. However, recently my daughter told me when she actively using the PC to game or any others apps nothing will happen. But if the PC is sit in idle for awhile, it might randomly hung the system and black screen without any warning. Sometimes it will not crash for a day, sometimes it will crashes 2-3 times. I checked Event Log, I can see anything that may causes the crashes. I made some research and I first thought it was caused by RAMs, so I swapped out the RAM using my system's rams (as my system doesn't have that problem). Problem persist. Then I thought it may be the unreliable PSU due to the R9 290 are power hungry, so I swapped her 750W Thermatik LitePower out to a Corsair CX650M 650W modular PSU, to ensure 2x different rail supply the power it needs for the R9 290. But system crashes still happening.... So I am abit out of my depth, hope someone out there may have similar problem before and know what might be the case..... As I have strong feeling that it is the GPU issue ( am browsing eBay atm for a 2nd GPU to replace the R9 290)..... Thanks in advance ! System Spec: Dell Precision T3500 CPU: Xeon W3680 RAM: 8GB DDR3 12800 GPU: Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X 4gb PSU : Corsair CX650M 650W modular HDD : 1x 240gb WD Green SSD, 1x 1TB WD Blue 7500rpm SATA
  14. I would prefer 1650 as well.. but they cost more than 1050ti lp........ But you are right. I would have prefer 1650 over 1050ti. But if budget constrain, I will bit the bullet for 1050ti lp
