I have seen some people running GPU's from their M2 NVMe slot. What adapter do they use?

I have an ITX board with 2 NVMe slots I would like to put to use with 3x3070's.

Finally reached one of my goals, top 100 in LTT

Next stop, top 50 which I should make with my current output of around 12 million PPD.

If I could just get this spare 3070 Folding properly.....

One Trillion! Only the second team in history to achieve this. Congratulations and keep on Folding

The 3070's could be spiking in power at times. My 3080 has spiked over 400 watts. Check the PCIe bandwidth use in HWMonitor.

*3080 amperage peak of 34.438 amps.

    Yes,

You likely don’t need a new motherboard just to find where as rock has hidden the setting. Perhaps the Advanced/AMD PBS menu?
A BIOS update might be necessary.

The thing is that there aren't really any PCIe 4 risers yet, so anything you get is known good for gen3 but may be hit or miss (most likely miss) for gen4.

Unfortunately my knowledge of new motherboards is very sparse.

I hope someone here can give you a hand though. For me though higher end Gigabyte/Aorus boards have been my go to generally speaking so far. But please do your own research and get advice from people more in the know than me.

It does fit in case anyone else finds this thread and is curious to know. I have the Chromax Black on an Asus X570 I Gaming ITX

Oof, output has taken a hit

    Sold my 3080 XC3 Ultra and a 3070 XC3 Black.

    Inbound and arriving on Sat and Tues are 2 x 3070 XC3 Ultra's and a 3080 FTW3 Ultra

Production will ramp up significantly in the next few days.

Config will be 3x 3070 XC3 Ultras and a 3080 FTW3 Ultra. Should be good for 15-16 million PPD.

    Update, 20/11/2020.

Quite a few things have gone on with this system during the few months that have gone by.

    Current GPU's within this system,

    RTX 3080,
    RTX 2080 super,
    RTX 2060,
    RTX 2060,
    GT 710.

    Folding Performance
Current folding at home PPD is unknown, due to the short time that the 3080 has been within the system, but it's looking to be over 11M PPD.

    Power
Currently, there are two power supplies that run this system. The EVGA 550 GM powers the RTX 2060's, whilst the Corsair HX 1000i powers the system, the RTX 3080, RTX 2080 Super and the GT 710. I have considered getting an AX1600i PSU, but I had ran out of funds. Total power draw is estimated to be around 1.2 KW/h.

    Temperatures and Cooling
Whilst this system does not sound like an airport, the temps are not bad, either. The hottest GPU, the 2080s at 75.C with the fans on the factory fan curve, whilst the coolest GPU is the 3080, sitting at 71.C. With the case cooling, I removed the two 200mm fans from the front of the case, as the airflow was not the greatest. This was noticed when suction was found on the back of the case. The three fans that are now installed are the Corsair ML140 Pro. Each pushes fresh air over the front GPU's. There is a passiage behind the 3080 where the GT 710 sits. The warm are is vented out the rear of the mesh backplates. The cover plate for the backplate thumb screws is also removed, as this allowed warm air to escape, preventing the air from recirculating into the GPU's.

    Why that GT 710?
That GT 710, you will be asking, why? As this is my daily driver, I needed a GPU that could run my desktop and entertainment. As the Ryzen 7 3700X doesn't come with an iGPU, this is where the crappy GPU comes into play.

    Summary
As of the 20th of November, 2020, this system is complete, and no upgrades are planned. Possible tweaks and optimizations could lead to new projects in the future, however. On October 20th, this system joined the LTT folding month competition. After some fierce battles for 30th place, this place leapfrogged with a 1070, and finished 20th in the event.

Perfect - Thanks - that shows the power limits.

I uploaded the BIOS to them for the 2070 Super Hybrid XC3 and they never published them either which is a shame as though they share the same revision as the air-cooled cards the fan profiles and targets are different to accommodate the pump and radiator fan.

Interesting. That model has a 240W Power Target versus the 220W on the Black and a 274W max versus 264W but both have similar lower power limits - 100 versus 99W.

Happy Holidays! I'll likely wait until the new year when, hopefully, the stock levels for the new GPUs will start improving.
