How is making a build for Hasan not more specific than a Trump build? By your logic this build itself went too far. It's clear people are only okay with this collab because they agree with Hasan to varying degrees. Also people keep comparing this collab to one with someone like Shapiro or Crowder, but they're pretty mainstream neoconservatives. Wouldn't someone on the far right be a better comparison since Hasan is considered far left? I doubt the lefties saying that this video collab was fair game and all in good fun would say the same if it was a build for someone like Nick Fuentes or Richard Spencer. I'm in the camp of this video was a mistake because it tacitly says "hey we're sorta cool with you and your side of politics, but we just don't want to be open about it".
I'm just tired of people bringing politics into everything. I used to love that Linus was never political about everything on any of his platforms, but he's gotten more outspoken about certain topics over the years and it's annoying. Specifically in regards to U.S. politics that aren't tech related on his personal twitter (but there's been a small amount of it on the WAN show too). It's just annoying.
After watching the WAN show episode I have to wonder, why building a leftist PC was ok but the Trump PC got shut down. More fear being canceled from the left as opposed to from the right? I don't know it just seems weird. Also, while a Ben Shapiro PC would be funny, i think a Steven Crowder pc would be more entertaining as there is just more material to pull from.
It shouldn't be too big of a deal but 70% is a tad low as it will have more water in it making it possible it'll corrode components or sit underneath a BGA chip and not evaporate. Then when you power it on it'll short things out
Use 99% iso not 70%, and it's probably a mix of dust and flux that are now mixed together with the water in the iso. The best bet is ultrasonic cleaning but it's unlikely you have one so more iso like ShrimpBrime said with coffee filters and shop towels.
OT: didn't people just tell me last year 3600 is all I'd ever need and now I'm supposed to fork out again, and probably next year too!?
(I'm pretty happy with my CPU btw and no plans to replacing it but that's pretty ridiculous anyways, just because they keep churning out new CPUs every year doesn't mean you actually have to buy them.. give me a break lol)
3x 120s will likely push more air at the same noise level, or the same air at a lower noise level vs 2x 140s. They will also likely have a higher max airflow. I prefer 140mm fans in general, but in this case I'd go with 120s.
OP is from Shanghai, I'm guessing the majority of the people on the forum he mentions are also from Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc... all big cities where people LOVE to flaunt their worldly possessions as status symbols (this is something VERY prevalent in China, people compete on a daily basis to show how much higher the food chain their are VS everyone else ... personal experience BTW).
So my guess is, that's something that is also present in their PC enthusiasts space. If he cares about fitting in, he'll follow, if he cares about enjoying his PC, he should tune them out and not openly display his specs or his PCs.
The 2000 series had relatively very low sales from PC gamers because the 2000 series was a total rip-off, price-to-performance-wise.
The overwhelming majority of 1000 series owners didn't upgrade to the 2000 because there wasn't an attractive proposition. Because the 3000 series is offering a huge increase in performance, and because 1000 series owners' cards are getting a bit dated now, sales figures for the 3000 series will likely be far higher than the 2000 series'.
Summary
Dozens of Amazon's own products have been reported as dangerous -- melting, exploding or even bursting into flames. Many are still on the market.
In one instance on January 12, 2017, Austin Parra's mother explained to firefighters that her son's chair caught on fire while he was sleeping, and he was burned as he carried the flaming chair outside. Parra, then 20, had been transported to the hospital.
The fire marshall ultimately concluded that the fire originated with the cord Parra was using to charge his cellphone. His report stated the cord experienced a short circuit, and while it was unclear why this happened, "the heat produced by the cord ignited the upholstery for the office chair."
The cord had been branded with the name of the world's largest online retailer: Amazon. (Pictures in the CNN Link)
Amazon shoppers have recounted frightening malfunctions and close calls in vivid detail:
A surge protector turned into a "blowtorch," one father recalled -- saying that flames shot out of the device, which was near his baby's nursery.
Phone chargers were said to have burned peoples' hands and legs, and exploding batteries allegedly sprayed chemicals in someone's face.
A USB cord burst into flames in a parked car while a toddler was inside, according to one parent.
A charger in another car was reported as starting an electrical fire on the freeway, allegedly burning the driver and a jacket.
Paper shredders turned on by themselves, according to multiple consumers, and one reportedly blew up in a "fireball," burning someone's arm and singeing the hair off.
And a microwave suddenly caught on fire when an 8-year-old went to heat up her macaroni and cheese cup as she had done "a zillion times," a mother claimed, saying she had to take the appliance outside and spray it with a hose.
Each of these purchases were "verified," meaning Amazon confirmed that the customer who wrote the review actually purchased the product on the site and didn't receive a "deep discount," according to its website. Several were accompanied by photos of the burned items.

My thoughts
I personally do a lot of shopping on Amazon but I've never purchased an AmazonBasics product. Affordable is not the same as cheap, I always warn people. You never want something cheap. As the saying goes "I'm not rich enough to buy cheap." I usually suck it up and probably overpay to buy things from a brand I trust.
For instance, you might look at a $50 Belkin surge protector on Amazon and ask why would anyone buy it when there are these other ones for $10-20. But if you ever put these side by side you'll immediately notice the quality difference. Cheap electronics/electric things heat up a lot and often make a buzzing noise. That's bad! A safe power cord costs a certain amount to make, at some point there is no way to lower cost without sacrificing quality and safety.
Just to re-iterate, you don't have to choose between AmazonBasics and shady brands on Amazon.com. Reputable OEMs make these things and not all of them are on Amazon.
The Sabrent Rocket is already kind of overpriced considering the others are on par in terms of performance, but I threw it in there just as another alternative.
All of the above are very similar to the 970 Evo, it's just that you're not paying the Samsung tax. I'm using an SX8200 Pro in my personal system, for reference, and it's solid. (the EX950 uses the same controller and is pretty much the same)
If you want to go with a PCIe 4.0 drive, just get the cheapest out of what @boggy77's listed, though do note that for just a little more money you can get a 2TB 3.0 drive, and if we're talking about real-world workloads, you're not going to notice a difference.
If you're constantly video editing and working with massive files, and need the best possible timeline performance - sure. Otherwise a 3.0 drive will work just as well.
All of those drives use the same controller (Phison E16), and they all have a DRAM cache.
how tragic, amd isn't 100% synced with nvidia, come on guys that means jack shit.
people called it big navi simply because it will have bigger dies, they talked about 50% better perf/w and the console's performance show that is the case.
i dont think amd has any plans not to release the card because amd wants to compete in the high end like lisa su said, even if they dont sell many of them, with huawei out of tsmc i dont think amd has problems with getting enough waffers
we have known for a a while their cards would launch later, people are weird sometimes.
have you gave any thought to the fact that maybe amd and nvidia aren't running on the same clock, why should their launches time frame have to coincide
usually amd sells their own cards for a bit, partly because aibs cant keep their mouths shut and amd wants to keep nvidia in the dark as to their plans.
as to which card is best for amd ones, i would recommend Sapphire about all others, i used to be a asus fan but their quality has been going down and their prices are completely stupid.
usually yes but with this launch who knows, as it should be the last main launch for am4 so amd might not want to make a new chipset when there aren't many changes from x570 worth implementing.
i really dont get why people would be disappointed with this, its right in line with all info we had, we got many ampere leaks in the last month showing that it was close to launch and very few from the amd side so it was obvious it would launch later, do you want performance a month before launch, thought people hated paper launches.
Why are people acting like announcing the announcement isn't something that basically every company does at this point? As far as I know it's not like AMD had promised to release the GPUs together with Nvidia, so I don't really see the issue here, particularly when considering that only Polaris was released closer to the Nvidia equivalent ever since GCN 1.0 in 2012. AMD(TSMC) having to supply Zen 3 and RDNA2 for desktop, and Zen 2+RDNA2 for the consoles at the same time probably doesn't make it any easier to launch them.
RT will be on RDNA2, pretty sure AMD does have a Shadow Play equivalent, and they also have FreeSync(the more popular "Sync", AKA G-Sync Compatible).
We'll see how this goes. I will reserve judgement - it's always possible for a massive generational improvement (especially if RDNA2 is actually a second generation, rather than simply "Big Navi").
SSD or Solid State Drive is a storage device containing non-volatile flash memory, used in place of hard drive because of its much greater speed. Unlike a hard drive, a solid state drive doesnt have any moving parts. It has two main components - A flash controller and NAND flash memory chips.
More information on solid state drives can be had from here..

This guide differentiates SSDs in different tiers based on their DWPD, sustained writes, controllers and NAND types.
