  1. The one I linked. Strange... Did they release a new version with the metal backplate? Probably the old ones from a year ago didn't have one?
  2. Wait a minute... The EVGA 2060 doesn't have a backplate...? WTF?
  3. I was only playing CS GO with one monitor, lmao. And your GPU costs as much as my entire build...
  4. I have yet to even mess with any of those settings. Everything is still in default. OK. That was the last straw. Safe mode, DDU, all that TDR tricks didn't work. Just had another restart. Funny thing is that even though I disabled automatic restart so I can see the BSoD screen, it restarted anyway. Lol. I'll have to send an RMA request to Amazon. Hope they will accept. I threw the box away already... I was stupid. Learn from my experience. Stay away from AMD GPUs. Now, I'm probably gonna get the 2060. Question is, which one? This is the most affordable one https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-06G-P4-2066-KR-GeForce-Gaming-Backplate/dp/B083GH7LXW/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=RTX+2060&qid=1595122113&s=electronics&sr=1-2 I'm gonna check reviews to see if this one is worth buying. I mean, low price is tempting, but I don't wanna deal with any headaches that come later on. If anyone has experience using it, please let me know as well.
  5. My PSU is titanium 550W. I can't believe those people who have similar crashes all have bad PSUs as well. It happens in a matter of seconds.
  6. I just built my first PC with a 5600 and when it works, it's good. But I've been very frustrated and exhausted by the random restarts/crashing from this GPU. I didn't know what the cause was at first, but upon further reading, seems like AMD is just incompetent at fixing their drivers. Yes, I've tried all kinds of fixes. TDR, bios update, reset profile, reinstall programs, etc. Did them all. Who else has/had a 5600/5700 and the same problem? I'm exhausted. I'll try to safe mode DDU this damn thing tomorrow. The deadline for return is 7/22. I am just one random restart from firing up an RMA demand. The box is gone already, so I don't know if I can still RMA. Asking for a bunch of returns on Amazon is really risky, but I can't just suck this up. Heard NVIDIA GPUs can be loud. How bad are they? If I do make the switch to a 2060 EVGA, what issue do I need to keep an eye out for? Do NVIDIA users have to deal with similar drivers issues? Any other suggestions, well, I'll listen.
  7. So, clearly an AMD problem. I thought this is only for the 5700...
  8. Goddamn it! Just had another restart from CS! What the hell!? Now I'm pissed! Thought it was done after I reinstalled the ga,e, but no, life is not that easy! This better just be a CS issue! I tried to use HWinfo, but not sure how. I have the log info when it crashed, but can't read a damn thing. And fuck this bastard... I used MSI Afterburner to see what the hell is going on with the specs when it restarts. After 40 minutes, the game runs fine with no restarts. This goddamn son of a...
  9. I'm not sure if I should ask, but those cheap Ebay keys... are they similar to or better than keygens? I've seen people being satisfied with their purchase, some weren't.
  10. As a resident in south LA, I am dying of jealousy. Your download speed is 10 times faster than mine, and your upload speed is 100 times faster.
  11. I have a Windows 10 key from my old laptop that I'd like to use to activate Windows 10 on my new PC. I even deleted/unregistered the key on my old laptop and cleared the reg. I still can't activate that key on my PC. It says I don't have a digital license and forces me to buy it from the store. The SLUI 4 method doesn't work anymore so I can't activate anything over the phone. Not sure if MS support can help, though. Is there anyway to reuse the old key or do I have to shell out for a new key? I've heard people using cheap Ebay keys or key gens just fine, but I wonder if those let you get updates.
  12. So, the GPU isn't working properly? How do I fix that? If it's a driver issue, it'd easier to deal with than hardware issue. And what's with that fps count, do you know? Well... I downloaded the game from Steam. I don't know what else I can do with that, lol.
  13. Well... I don't know if the old driver would have worked... It's a new build and I updated everything before I tested any game. I bought the PSU from Amazon, so I think their RMA process wouldn't be too strict. Hopefully. I'm gonna check the software first, before moving on to the hardware stuff. So, I used MSI Afterburner to check if there's anything abnormal about the temperature. The strange thing is that, I couldn't start CS after the last reboot. I got into the menu screen, then the game says something about me not running it in trusted program, or whatever, and told me to restart. I tried to enter the game again and the PC just rebooted. I tested Doom this time. I played through the first level without any significant issue. Except for a few oddities... Anything seems wrong with the numbers? https://i.imgur.com/nJaadxu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/V39Vx3q.jpg https://i.imgur.com/B7rjs8k.jpg https://i.imgur.com/JGgxFvS.jpg What are these white lines? https://i.imgur.com/SymyPIB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9wAP1r2.png I ran the game in Ultra settings. For the most part the game ran mostly fine from 80-90 fps range, occasionally dipping down to 79 or up to 103. This bugs me a little, because the benchmarks show that I'm supposed to have over 120 fps in 1080p settings. I also see some white lines when I turn left or right in the fifth picture. They show up even when I have V-sync at 60 fps. I think I played for about 40 minutes or so, or at least must have been more than 30 minutes, and besides the low fps and white lines I mentioned, there wasn't any major issue. I don't know if anything would have happened if I kept playing, though. Right now, I am reinstalling CS GO. Perhaps it's just that game that has issue, maybe a bad download or something. Please let me know if you noticed anything unusual. I'm gonna test Yakuza 0.
  14. Got another reboot. I took a screenshot of the temperature graph in the bios right after it happened. Does this look like some kind of overheating problem? Does the boot priority order matter after I have installed Windows? https://i.imgur.com/72VJTWK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/I1YCCTb.png I should probably mention that this only happens only when I game, at least so far. Someone advised me to delete the GPU driver and use the old version. Is that... gonna help? Maybe I should just give it a shot, reinstall it. Edit: another reboot while I was running Cs in the background and monitoring Cpu usage. I think Gpu usage was around 70%, fps in game was 200 fluctuating. Strange... Another try, and game couldn't even run. Lol. Fuck.
  15. No CPU overclock. PSU is this ($120 after tax) https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-Platinum-Certified-PS-ST55F-PT/dp/B017WL5UIG RAM sticks seem fine... Nothing indicates they have any problems... 2 M2 SSDs. WD Black 1TB NVMe M2 and another WD Blue 550GB M2 Sata. Maybe...? But I paid good money for this PSU so I'd shocked and pissed if that's the case. I believe I have all the last drivers, yes, for everything. Unless I miss something critical, but I doubt an old driver can cause this... I just saw that tuning tab that you spoke of in the Performance section, but have no idea what it does. Never used it. I haven't changed anything in the bios. But will try resetting it now.
  16. Just completed my first build and was testing some games. CPU 3600 and GPU 5600. I had 3 restarts in about 1 hour. So, I was playing CS GO, and all of a sudden the monitor went black, then green, then the PC shut off. Didn't even get a BSoD. No idea what the reason was. After 1-2 seconds, PC turned back on, everything seems fine, but then I notice that the boot debug light is now on. I didn't know how to turn it off or what the problem was. I entered bios setting, enabled XMP profile, but still nothing. I restarted the PC again, and the light was gone. I continued playing for another 40 minutes, everything seemed fine, but then the PC turned off all of a sudden again. The monitor just went black, then says no HDMI connection, and after a second, the PC turned itself on again. Lights inside the case were still on, but it's as if I just powered off and on my PC real quick. There wasn't even the screen that tells me to sign in. The debug light didn't turn on this time. I continued playing for another 5-10 minutes before it restarted itself again. Boot debug light was on, so I restarted again and it went away. What's going on...? I don't think the temperature ever went over 70, as I checked in Dragon Center. Event Viewer shows a bunch of warnings and errors, though... atidqllk? Oh, and the AMD Radeon software didn't start automatically after the PC rebooted itself, unlike usual. Had to open it myself. A small but strange extra detail. Thanks in advance for any help!
  17. Haven't checked in the bios yet. Will do so tonight. But the problem seems to be incompatibility slot. The old one is an M2 Sata, which I just realized, and the new one is an M2 NVMe. The first slot near the CPU supports both, but the second slot (picture above) at the bottom is only for NVMe. So I might have to swap their places to make them both work. However, this can make my new SSD slower. This is the new one I have https://shop.westerndigital.com/products/internal-drives/wd-black-sn750-nvme-ssd#WDS100T3X0C Someone told me it won't be able to take advantage of the M2_1 slot's extra speed. Is that true? How bad or slower will it get if I swap them? Also, the first slot has a cover with what seems to be a cooling pad (no idea?). Thought it would suit the new NVMe the most. XP
  18. I have an SSD from my old laptop that I'd like to use on my new PC. But it's not showing up when I put it in. I tried to go into disc management, too, but nothing showed, either. My new SSD works, but the old one doesn't show up even in Device Manager. Is there some sort of compatibility issue?
  19. Sorry, is this for the new SSD and not the old one? Well, what happens when I reformat it? It has a bunch of Program Files folders and some Windows stuff.
  20. No worry. I edited my post so that's why you didn't get a notification. GPU fans are running again. I was shocked when my finger touched the fans because I didn't expect it to run. Well, I guess it's nothing to worry about. I also reinserted my RAM and they are on now. The only thing left that's not lit up is the CPU cooler. I'm gonna try using MSI ML to see if I can get it to work. I'm installing the updates. It's 90% done at this point. I'll post questions if I run into anymore issues. (Hope I don't!) I can't wait to post my rig up tonight! Thanks for you help! Really appreciated it!
  21. I just installed Windows from a USB drive and have a new M2 SSD. I think nothing important has been installed on it yet. Can I change the drive letter to X instead of C? Will there be any issue? I know it's a risk to rename drive letter that has been used but this is a new one. Anything else I need to watch out for? I also have another SSD from my old laptop. It has pictures and some old games from Steam. Can I change this SSD's drive letter to Z, too? It's probably gonna be my storage drive, mostly. Steam might have some difficulty but I can always download the games again. Will this cause any issue? Thanks in advance!
  22. @BlueScope819 It works now! https://ibb.co/Jq22K1M Not sure what the reason is, but I flip the power switch back and forth while pressing down the power button, and now it's on. XD I have some concerns, though. - Why is the Cpu cooler's light not on? Is it supposed to be on by default or until I use a software? - I thought that Msi logo on the top left was supposed to light up? - Ram sticks are also not on either. What's wrong? - GPU's fans are not running.
  23. Bad news: it didn't work. No power light, no fans, nothing. Not a single noise. Even tried pressing the power button on the case. Nothing. Uh oh.
