  1. I used a Ryzen 3600 and my temps are all over the place. What optimisations do you do to keep it at a level which is stable.
  2. Hi all, Is the 120mm size of Liquid Freezer ii enough to deal with a Ryzen 5 3600? (stock + simple oc configuration if needed) Having finished my build couple of months ago I don't see myself upgrading the CPU anytime soon. Stock cooler temperatures are bit all over the place and i'm not really a fan of huge air coolers either. My case NZXT H210 which support 4 fans (2 front, 1 back, 1 top). Main goal is to keep positive pressure in the case with stable temperatures so wasn't sure if having 240mm would cause issues with that. All my bedrooms have carpets and I've noticed alot of carpet lint flowing all over the place over time through ducted heating system, so I don't like to have negative pressure where all those nasty bits gets into the case with unfiltered crevices, if that makes sense Thanks.
  3. Wait for reviews on cooling performance. Sure there is a chance of missing out initial stock if you wait. But lesses risk. Just because 30 series is out it doesn't make your existing GPU instantly obsolete and a piece of brick... Some of the features that are mentioned on presentation are not and will not be out for a while either or not being used heavily by the applications as of yet. Ofcourse there are exceptions where you're running a workstation system which can instantly benefit from improved rendering times, etc. In all other cases, wait ;)
  4. yes it can, but thought of doing so to give gpu a bit breathing space. thanks for sharing this.
  5. G’day all, Have couple of questions with regards to a build i’m doing. 1) Using nzxt h210 case and going with sfx power supply unit. I was looking at corsair / silverstone and seasonic models and found that all of them have shorter cables and I will need to get extensions. I’m interested in doing aesthetics at a later stage when I have a stable system so don’t want to spend much on mods at start. Is there any modular psu that comes with enough cable length? 2) For the wattage of my system here is a calculator i’ve used for a more realistic usecase for the components i’m using. https://outervision.com/b/i8uBS3 It says at 370W is the estimated. This is for non-oc. If I were to do bit of oc and may be change graphics to a more capable card in future (max at 2070 super level), would a 450-500W still be enough to maintain the system well? Cheers,
  6. Thanks for the info. I keep seeing this point every now and then, i.e. nvec is superior. Just to get bit of context around this, is it because that cpu encoding with h264 is very bad for streaming or is it because nvidia contains a dedicated chip for encoding makes it a good buy for a use case of streaming? Cheers,
  7. G’day all, Building a pc primarily for 1080p gaming. Am interested in air cooled graphics with good performance. Somewhat confused with all the different varients of gpus (rtx 2060/ 1660 / super / 5600 / 5700 / xt) and to top it all, the variants from each vendor. (e.g. evga ko/ ftw/ xc/ sc, gygabyte and msi series, etc ). Is there a guide somewhere to narrow down these? I’m after a decent performance card without breaking the bank and won’t cause me problems with heat / throttle. OC is not a must as stability and cooler system is more important for me. Yes i’ve watched a few YT videos on fps for the above gpu chips but it didnt help much with differences among vendors and their lineup. rest of the system: ryzen 3600 nzxt h210 corsair 16gb 3200Mhz wd blue nvme pcie3 256 ssd + 2.5” ssd for bulkier storage if needed. b450i or b550i (haven't bought yet) 550w gold+ corsair or seasonic (not yet bought)
