I've been having this problem since yesterday and I'm out of ideas, Ever since yesterday I've had problems login in.
My pc boots into windows without problems, but my login screen is blank, no user to log into or select. I decided to boot into safe mode and see if I could fix issues that way, I was able to log in and boot into safe boot using msconfig. The ONLY way the login screen shows up for me is when Active Directory Repair is selected. It'll allow me to login, on other safe boot options it gives me the login screen but it'll say my Username/Pin is wrong, even though I'm 100% I'm filling them in correctly.
I tried googling and tried some things in the group policy but to no avail.
After that I tried adding my Microsoft account from my school laptop to see if that would allow me to at least boot into normal service mode, now that does but explorer.exe refuses to start for whatever reason so it's basically unusable. I've looked for all my files in C:\Users and they're all there so afaik no documents are corrupted. My stuff is backed up and taken care of just in case, I'm just not looking forward to reinstalling Windows and all applications I run daily. It's a pain with the amount of configuration that has to be done.
I'm completely lost as to why booting into Active Directory repair mode allows me to login, I'm guessing it has something to do with AD in that case but I can't figure it out.
I'm on Windows 11 build 22000 210604-1628.
I have moderate knowledge about Computers and all of that so don't be afraid to use difficult terms or explanations. If it's needed I can provide more information or pictures.
