  1. I used EaseUS disk partition manager I believe. I tried that route with the command prompt, but so far it didn't work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
  2. When I built my computer, apparently I formatted my SSDs to MBR. Well, I wanted to upgrade to Win11, and of course it wouldn't let me because I wasn't using UEFI with secure boot activated. So, I saw that I could convert my MBR to GPT without data loss, so I did... Well, the data is all still there. However, I can not boot from this disk. I had 2 SSDs (NvMe) installed and I had a version of windows installed on each. After I converted the 1 drive I still couldn't find it when I changed the BIOS to UEFI, so I kept messing around, and then I couldn't get the computer to boot at all. It was stuck in a loop. I bought a 3rd SSD (I know, I wanted more space anyway) I installed windows 10 in GPT from the start, and I have the cpu up and running again. The thing is, is the 2TB drive I originally swapped from MBR to GPT has a lot of settings and programs and such, that it's the version of windows I'd prefer to upgrade. And everything is still on the drive, I just can't boot from it. I can't use the USB method of entering windows installer and repairing the drive or anything else. I tried reinstalling the boot partition, but when I compare the drive to the current bootable drive, the partition information looks different. Like I am still missing something related to booting windows. E: on Disk 1 in the photo is the partition with the version of windows I want access to. It seems like there must be a simple solution, since all the data remains, it seems like I'm just missing one thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. So I got all the parts, and the build largely went off without a hitch. The hard drive came preinstalled with the Chinese version of windows, which comes with bloat ware and makes tasks difficult, so I am going to do a clean reinstall of windows this evening. One thing though, my RAM came marked for "Intel", most of the info I found online said that it might work but need tweaking to each it's advertised speed, and sure enough it's only registering 2300or so and it it is rated for 3600. So i guess I need to adjust the timings or the voltage in the BiOS? Either that or send the RAM back and wait patiently for compatible RAM to arrive.
  4. It's on the list for mid-tier systems Cooler Master MWE 80 Gold 650w. I used the website they always recommend for making sure your power supply is adequate for your system. I think it recommended 600w and I just wanted to make sure I had a little bit more room in the efficiency curve and a bit off a buffer from maxing it out.
  5. Mostly gaming, periodically do some work, nothing too intensive besides hours of gaming at 1440p.
  6. I bought a 34in UW 144hz monitor not long ago, and it's just too much for the 1660Ti in my laptop, so I decided to build my own gaming rig. I didn't go crazy with the case, I bought one that seemed easy to work with, if I don't like it, I can always move everything into another one. No shortage of options here in China. So in my Lian Li Lancool 2 I'm going to assemble: X570 Aorus Master Ryzen 7 3800x MSi RTX 2070 Super OC 650w CoolerMaster 2x16 GB DDR4 3600 RAM (Corsair Vengeance) (I know it's overkill, but it was less than 100$ to jump from 2x8 to 2x16) Lexar 1TB m.2 The power supply has arrived, and all the other parts are on their way. So by Sunday I should have everything to start building. I've watched Linus and a few other Youtubers build, so I think I can manage it. I am concerned about cooling, I want to avoid water cooling, and after watching a review I'm not sure about the Lancool 2 as easy to keep cool. My case came with no fans, but I ordered some Arctic fans, Nocturna fans and a "Gentle Typhoon" that someone recommended to kind of test the air flow and get an idea of what is best for noise and cooling. The case can fit 3 140 or 120mm fans in front, 1 120mm in the rear and I think 2 or 3 120mm fans on top, and even has room to mount fans on the bottom of the case. So I am interested to see what I can achieve with the 5 fans I bought, and whether it's better to shoot for positive or negative pressure.
