  1. Well its my delve into 3d printing but I would like decent quality at the same time so that 3-6 months into it I don't feel like I have wasted money. I know the Ender 3 weighs in around $200US and I would probably be willing to go up to maybe $350+/-. Materials are a factor so I want to be able to afford to print too lol. My limited research suggests I may not want to start off with resin so I guess spool fed? Size unknown tbh. Leaning heavily on the experience of the community on this one. I am a designer by trade and like to dabble in virtually all forms of creativity and we homeschool our kids so I thought it might be useful in that realm as well. Thank you very much for your time and experience!
  2. I was wondering if that was still the go to. I was looking at it. Thank you for the reply! Fast too!
  3. Title pretty much says it all. I want to buy a 3D printer and I trust the community here to help point me in the right direction. I could a thread asking something similar but it was from 2013 and I’m sure a lot has changed in the last 7 years. Thanks for much in advance for your time!
  4. @Aereldor Thank you for the speedy reply. Haven't decided on a budget for my monitor yet but it will be separate from the listed budget. I haven't even started looking for one so I don't know what the prices are. I just don't want to buy a piece of junk per se. Also, I suppose I wouldn't mind some nods on a new keyboard and mouse just in case I am feeling froggy and want to jump on something new. Most of my stuff is pretty well dated at this point. I got a reply on the post in the wrong section and I have looked it over and mulled it around some. Trying to wrap my head around a lot of new tech. It had the Tomahawk B450 but I am wondering if I should try to see if I can find a B550 for better longevity. They seem to be sold out for the most part. I'm not in a huge hurry but it would be kind of nice to build somewhat soon. Thanks so much for your help! Jim
  5. Budget (including currency): +/- $1200 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Graphic Design, CAD, Gaming in general but probably not top tier but would like the option. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): See description Posted this earlier in the wrong place (Sorry BTW). Greetings all! First time on the forums here though I have been a fan of the YouTube channels for a while now. I am a computer repair tech and got out of the game maybe six or so years ago to explore other things in my life. Things have changed a great deal since I built my last system and I am in dire need a major upgrade from this ENVY laptop. So, I've puts some funds together but I find myself hesitating on what to pull the trigger on. I don't have a huge budget but I would love some opinions on the best routes to go on some hardware decisions. I have not been a huge gamer in recent years but would like the option if I decide to go that direction and I primarily do graphic design now professionally. I use Photoshop, CAD / SketchUp but would also like the umph to use some more resource intensive programs should they become available. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! So in a nutshell, given my needs for the computer, if you had a budget of around $1200 - what would you build? (In lieu of budgetary reasons, rgb and other flashy options which add expense are second priority, performance first) Also wouldn't mind a nod on some good monitor options that you have had good experiences with. Would like a wide format / or dual screen setup - possibly curved? Thanks a ton in advance ltt community! Jim
