  1. Thanks for your help I appreciate it, looking at msi afterburner and seeing it idle at 45 celcius on semi-passive rather than <35 celcius with active just bothers me alot cause i was always under the impression that cooler was better, but im guessing this temperature difference wont damage my card over time?
  2. I do have decent airflow but semi-passive causes its to stop start when playing easy to-run games and even sometimes when just idle, it idles at about 45-47 degrees and once it hits 50 the fans come on so there is a lot of stop/start
  3. The cards standard setup is semi-passive but It idles around 45-50 and starts to spin up at 50 now and again. Active just idles around 35. Load temps are about the same on either mode. I'm just worried that the stop/start is bad for the gpu. I have a full mesh case with 3 intake and 2 exhaust so i dont think airflow is an issue.
  4. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on whether I should have my card be semi-passively or actively cooled. I read that active fans will cause more dust build-up on the heat sink but semi-passive idles around 10 degrees hotter at 45 celcius and will also cause the fans to turn on and off regularly. Any help would be appreciated as I've already sent this card back for cleaning/new thermal paste as the temps got really bad. I have good airflow and eveything just wondering which method is safer. Its a Gigabyte 2080ti Gaming OC and its an open style card - Thank you for any help in advance.
  5. https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Fans/Magnetic-Levitation-Fans/ml-pro-config/p/CO-9050040-WW#tab-overview These are the 2 fans that are connected to my radiator and the ones I planned on buying 3 more of. Does this mean that because they are 'radiator fans' they must be used with a radiator. Or do they double as case fans as well and if so would it be better than using the fractal case fans? Appreciate your help
  6. Oh right I see. So i'll just have the fans running at the same speed at all times? I'm used to using fan curves so im guessing that wont be possible with this new setup? Thanks for all your help
  7. Thanks for your reply, I never really considered equal static pressure in this old case because i have 2x 120mm 2400rpm fans as the front intake through the AIO then 2x 140mm 1700rpm at the back and top rear and its been a nightmare for cooling. I'm thinking of buying 3 more 120mm 2400rpm fans for the this new case making for 5 in total ( 3 as intake and 2 at back) with the AIO mounted at the top front.
  8. That sounds great However I think I would probably be needing to replace the 3x 140mm fans that come with the case anyway because they are all 1700rpm, where as my 2 AIO fans are 120mm 2400rpm. I was thinking of just buying more 120mm 2400 rpm fans instead?
  9. Only trouble with this is that the 2 fans on the radiator aren't individually controllable they just sync up with the temperature of the cpu. If i were to buy 3 more as you suggested how would i get them all to run at the same speed?
  10. Was wondering if someone knows the best way to mount fans for airflow inside a Fractal Design Meshify S2 case. I will be using a 240mm AIO and the case comes with 3x 140mm fans. I've attached an image below of the fan mounting capabilities. I am willing to purchase more fans as well for optimal cooling were possible. Here are my components: CPU: i7 8700k CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i rgb platinum 240mm GPU: Gigabyte 2080ti GAMING OC (Open air cooling) Motherboard: MSI Z370-A PRO Storage: 1x Samsung 500gb SSD - 1x Toshiba 3tb HDD - 1x WD Blue 1tb HDD PSU: EVGA Supernova 750W Gold Thanks for any help
  11. Alright thanks, I'm excited to try the new case. Just to clarify, should I have the AIO radiator mounted at the top to exhaust in the new case? Or did you mean mount it at the front and exhaust? Because I was trying to show how I don't think i would be able to top mount the radiator in the new case because of the motherboard. Would i need to buy a new motherboard to top mount the radiator? Appreciate the help
  12. Thanks for your reply, I do see much better temps when the side panel is off but always leave it on to prevent dust. The temperatures were still quite poor in the winter and i can barely feel the intake through the radiator. As for the radiator, do you mean it should exhaust at the top? I feel that definitely wouldn't be possible with this motherboard as there is a lack of clearance at the top of it (attached image below). I was considering switching to the Fractal Design Meshify S2 case but if you have any other suggestions or think its not worth switching that would be great. Thanks again
  13. Hi, Over time I've felt my temps are too high when under load and have been trying to troubleshoot the issue. For airflow I'm using the 2x 120mm stock case fans to exhaust at the top and rear and a corsair h100i platinum AIO to intake at the front. When I built the PC (about a year ago) the highest I ever saw was around 73C under full load but now i consistently get 81-83C under full load. I know these temps are 'safe' but are starting to make me uncomfortable and am willing to change some parts to get better temps. I regularly clean it and have set up fan curves on both my GPU and case fans to hit 100% at 65C but I'm seeing no change. It's made me start to consider a new case as this case has poor front intake and possibly negative air pressure? I have listed my specs and included some images below, thank you very much in advance for any help even if its just telling me I'm paranoid. Case: NZXT H500I CPU: i7 8700k CPU Cooler: Corsair h100i rgb platinum (front mounted intake with included fans) GPU: Gigabyte 2080ti GAMING OC Motherboard: MSI Z370-A PRO Storage: 1x Samsung 500gb SSD - 1x Toshiba 3tb HDD - 1x WD Blue 1tb HDD PSU: EVGA Supernova 750W Gold
