Defragging is physically moving parts of files around that are broken up across the drive, such that they are effectively put back together. Hard drives are more affected by this than SSDs, but SSDs do benefit from occasional and specific defragging. It's not something you just run on your SSD at all, and you certainly don't want a program that treats an SSD as a hard drive.

TRIM is just the OS telling the drive that those specific files are no longer in use(stale data), which the drive will get to per its internal firmware.

    1.) It's totally fine.
    2.) Yes. Totally fine.
3.) Defragging an SSD is generally not advised due to the limited number of writes that they have. Sometimes it can be useful, but Windows will manage that as required, and the drive will manage itself internally.
4.)What do you mean it doesn't load up paint? Can you post a screenshot?
9.) It can lead to a drive that no longer functions if the update goes wrong. This is a risk vs reward issue. If the drive functions as it should, and you won't run into the issues that the firmware fixes, I'd just leave it as-is.

On the note about data loss, it's advised to retain backups of your data that you want to retain.

Your drive is rated for a total of 180TB writes, so based on the figure reported by CrystalDiskInfo, you've had 2.1TB written to it so far, which leaves 99.98% left of writes.

Disabling it or reducing it, in your case, should be fine. But should you decide to upgrade(and start playing games with this PC), and retain the same settings, you'll probably run into problems. I'd also disable "fast startup" under power settings under "Choose what the power buttons do" should you decide to shutdown your PC. It will take longer to start up from a shutdown, but it will reduce the number of writes the system does to your MX500.

Why are you trying to specifically locate it? What are you trying to do exactly? Disabling it is not really advised, and I myself ran into problems when lowering it, such as games randomly crashing due to running out of RAM.

Not sure what the video is telling you what to do. However, you can adjust it with the below instructions.

    Settings>System>About>Advanced system settings(it'll be off to the right under "Related settings")>Advanced tab>Performance Settings>Advanced tab>Virtual memory>Change

I can post screenshots as well if needed.

Leaving your PC in sleep mode does not cause stress on the SSD when waking up the machine. Hibernation, and Shutdown for that matter, will cause additional writes to the drive since the memory contents are dumped to the drive through a hibernation file.
TRIM is enabled by default. You can run it manually by opening "Optimize Drives" within Windows, and selecting Optimize for that specific drive.
I would advise you to leave it as-is.
Assuming your SSD actually allows you measure the temperature sensor, 65-70 degrees C is usually the max.
You can probably disable the program from auto-updating - there's probably some kind of component or service running in the background giving it that ability. You can likely disable it altogether, and only update it when you actually need to use it. However, I personally think that you're being too concerned when it comes to the write limits of your MX500. It'll likely last longer than you'll actually use it for.

It'll give us a lot of information.
I'd also request that you let it continue logging even after the game crashes for around 10 seconds. Also change the interval to every 0.3 seconds under GPU-Z Settings(hamburger/pancake stack button). The default is every second, and I want to go tighter to 0.3 seconds.

Can you download GPU-Z, enable "log to file"(and pick a location to save the file), play or let Elden Ring run until it crashes, and then uncheck "log to file", and then post the file here?

When you removed the CMOS battery, did you turn off power to the power supply or disconnect it from the wall, and then hold the power button? That's a requirement when resetting the BIOS utilizing that method. If the system is still getting standby power, the CMOS chip will remain powered, even without the CMOS battery being present.

People can be paranoid, especially when they're new at something. It's better to put their mind at ease with explanations versus just telling them something. It also helps educationally so they can make better decisions themselves.

Godlygamer23 got a reaction from linuxChips2600 in I have three microchip implants, AMA
We're at the beginning of implants my dude. The sky's the limit. Right now, they don't interface with your body, but they very well get to that point. People, and corporations, will want more.
Not an expert here. It depends on how far we go with implants. No matter how companies state how secure they are, there will always be vulnerabilities present, and people wanting to take advantage of them.
The major flaw is it's in your body. And that's just in the beginning. Once they become widespread(they will), companies will figure out how to make things more complicated for wearers. Even with government regulations in place, companies will try to circumvent them, creating additional complications.

Any time you open up your body, you create a risk of infection - that's objective reality. The more you do it, the riskier it gets. If material is incompatible with a person's body, it might get rejected and cause a host of complications - complications that can be avoided by simply not using an implantable device.

It's better to have it in the middle IMO, so totally fine. Cable is also good. That insulation will be able to reach 180 degrees F before anything catastrophic happens, The temperature won't get that high ever, so it's totally fine.

For the cost change alone, the fiber connection is obviously the best value, and even if you don't consume all of the bandwidth, consuming more bandwidth than either of the other options alone makes it worth the extra cost IMO.

If anything we need more air conditioning systems, in the form of reversible heat pumps. A cold climate air source heat pump is 3 to 5 times more efficient than resistive electric heating. Even high efficiency condensing gas furnaces are less efficient than a heat pump running off electricity generated by that same fuel in a power plant.

Those roll-around portable air conditioners and window units at the big-box store are bronze age tech in comparison.

Possibly, but it's cheaper to just nuke stuff and ship new ones. If there were a big spike in RMAs then yes, it would make sense to rip into them and do a full Root Cause Analysis. But you have to remember how much that costs.
Not only do they have to pay to get it shipped back, but then their logistics group has to recieve, track, and store all these units which is $$, then they have to dedicate engineers and machine time to investigating all the units which is $$$$$ + opportunity cost. Then that data has to get handed off to someone who is half decent at trend analysis which is $$$. And finally they have to dispose of the vast majority of the units which is further $$.

As it is, all they have to do is set a couple alerts (one email/physical address RMAing a lot, hash the image and make sure it's at least unique, compare RMAs to sales and ping when that ratio goes over a set threshold) and there is the bonus that customers don't even have to visit a shipping drop location.

Yes, and make sure it's a real card. Use a real stress testing program - no nonsense with Furmark or any derivatives. This is not the place for that.

Furmark had other issues, even back when it could kill video cards - namely, the card would pass an overclock within Furmark, and then instantly artifact, or the drivers would crash as soon as the user would go into a substantial game.
