  1. I'm on Windows 10 and there are so many options for changing your mouse sensitivity. There is the mouse properties, there is the cursor speed, there is the logitech mouse DPI, and then there are your in-game settings. Once you get into a game, are all four of these numbers taken into account? What is the difference between the mouse properties sensitivity and the cursor speed?
  2. Addition: I had previously had the most up-to-date driver software.
  3. Preface: I already solved my issue, but am curious as to what happened. I visited my parents for a week for the holidays and when I returned to my apartment and booted my PC, my second (of two total) monitors would not detect a video signal (Radeon 5700XT). When I tried to open AMD Software to see if I could reset my GPU driver from there, I got this error: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-300 I ended up just uninstalling my driver and reinstalling and my second monitor can get a signal again. For some reason, the second monitor was able to get a video signal for a brief moment after I had uninstalled my driver, and was in the process of downloading the new driver software (had not installed the new software yet). Anyone know what caused these issues? And how come the second monitor was able to get a video signal for a brief moment?
  4. It's connected to the generic router that spectrum gives you. It's not fiber I know, just whatever their basic WiFi is, I think Coaxial.
  5. I haven't tried doing this. I thought you need the router though to convert the modem signal into something your computer can understand?
  6. My router has been acting up for a few months now. Sometimes when I load a website, it gives me the "This site can't be reached" error page. I must refresh the page 3-10 times before it will load. I've found this doesn't happen for big websites like Facebook or YouTube, but it happens for smaller websites like video game guides, etc. I am on a desktop PC connected to the router with Ethernet. My roommate has also experienced this on his laptop connected with WiFi. I've also experienced similar issues in Epic Games Launcher or Steam, where some of those pages won't load and I have to refresh a couple of times. I called my ISP Spectrum to see if they could identify any issues on their end, and they didn't see anything, but they could be wrong. Can anyone help me fix this? Thanks!
  7. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dsong98/saved/g6m9NG I've tried wired headphones into my PC with a splitter, and bluetooth headphones, but my PC doesn't seem to take any audio input. I've tried websites to test my audio input, and it says there is a mic recognized, but there is no sound input registered. Any ideas for how to fix this?
  8. I was able to get a splitter, but my mic still isn't working. When I test it, website will say they detect a microphone, but they don't get any input. Is it possible I wired my front IO incorrectly?
  9. I'm trying to buy a new mechanical keyboard, and its hard to just go into a store and test which types of switches I like best. I currently have a Romer-G tactile keyboard, and I like how they aren't too loud to type on, and feel pretty smooth and almost linear. I want something that is similar. I found 2 keyboards that I think I've narrowed it down to: HyperX Alloy Elite 2 (MX Red) Corsair K70 MK.2 Low Profile Rapidfire (MX Speed) Any recommendations for which one to get? Or any other keyboards recommendations?
  10. I was wondering if that was a possibility. I am just plugging it into the Front IO headphone jack. When I did this on other PC's it worked, so I wasn't sure why it wasn't working this time. When I tried to plug the headphones into the Front IO microphone jack, I still couldn't find any input in the settings.
  11. I just built a new PC, and I'm having trouble using a microphone on it. When I plug in my apple earphones or bose qc15, I can't use the mics from them, and I can't find the input anywhere in the settings. Do I need to install a driver? System: Windows 10
  12. I have a .5 TB SSD that I have been using. I filled it up with games (mostly Modern Warfare) so I recently got a 2TB Barracuda HDD. Can I just proceed to install programs into the new drive? Do I just create another Programs Files folder into it, and manually select it when installing new games? In general, can you just install files interchangeably between these two drives? I read that this may not be a good idea.
  13. Yes, I saw this! They looked really neat, although they were all sold out
  14. This is my current build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dsong98/saved/#view=g6m9NG - Meshify C - b450 Tomahawk Max - Hyper 212 BE RGB I am looking for some RGB fans to add some spice to my build. I have a b450 Tomahawk, with 2 led strips and the Hyper 212 BE RGB plugged into it, so I can cycle through some colors with those. I'm looking for some cheap extra fans to add, preferably under $30-40. I saw a few on Amazon that are rated pretty well, but was wondering if anyone had recommendations? Questions: Also, if I was to get RGB fans, I think I would need to plug them into a separate RGB control board. Is there any way I could sync this control board up with my current rgb lighting (the 2 strips and hyper212)? My Meshify-C came with 2 stock fans. I am thinking of purchasing a pack of 3 fans, so what would be an optimal arrangement? I was thinking of putting the 2 stock in the back and top, and then the 3 pack of rgb fans in the front. Would I need to make sure that the input and output pressure match each other?
  15. My budget is probably like $50. I am leaning towards the Hyper 212 evo, as it is cheap and has good recommendations. My only hesitation is that some people say it does not come with the AM4 mounting bracket. I am also thinking about adding case fans instead of upgrading the CPU fan. I was thinking of the 2x or 3x Cooler Master MF120R A-RGB.
  16. I have been testing my new PC, here are the specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dsong98/saved/g6m9NG - Ryzen 5 3600 (Wraith Stealth Cooler) - Radeon 5700xt - b450 Tomahawk Max I tried playing Modern Warfare for a few hours, and the temps spiked to 96C, at an average of like 80-85C. This is not normal is it? I am worried that I didn't install the CPU cooler well enough. For some reason, I could not screw it down more, as it was blocked by some shield on the mobo. Would this be a problem, if the cooler was not screwed in all the way? Would it be a good idea to flip the cooler, as it seems there is room for the AMD logo on the cooler on the other side next to the RAM.
  17. Thank you so much! I feel so dumb, there were some shield over those ports, and I just thought they were brackets for aesthetics or something. I plugged the HDMI in, and I now see the BIOS! Thank you! Once I want to regularly use my PC though, should I continue to use the GPU hdmi, or should I be using the mobo hdmi? And if I am using the GPU, should I be using DisplayPort instead of HDMI?
  18. I did plug the HDMI into the mobo. Should you even be able to plug something into the GPU? I have no ports I can see on the back of the PC to plug anything into it
  19. Hi everyone, I just completed my first build, the components are here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dsong98/saved/g6m9NG Ryzen 3600 Radeon 5700xt b450 Tomahawk Max 550V PSU etc... I tried booting up my PC to pressing the delete key to enter BIOS, and all the fans spin and the GPU and mobo light up, but the monitor does not turn on, or get any signal. Am I worried that I damaged my CPU when installing the CPU cooler. For some reason, the Ryzen Wraith Stealth doesn't fit on the Tomahawk b450 Max mobo, despite all sources saying it does (but perhaps I didn't install it correctly?). The cooler couldn't go all the way down, as it was blocked by some plastic shield on the mobo (I will link a picture below of this issue). I didn't realize this, and I was trying to push the cooler down to get the screws in place. I tried to pull the cooler off of the processor too, but couldn't because of the thermal paste. I also moved it side to side. I am worried that this could have damaged the CPU. However, I read that the mobo should beep at me if there were any issues detected, and I hear no beeping. This leads me to think the CPU is alright? Regardless, even if my CPU was broken, the monitor should still receive a signal if the mobo and GPU are working, correct? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
  20. I just built my first PC, and want to install windows 10 onto it. All I have currently is a MacBook Pro, so I’m not sure how I can make the usb bootable drive. Can I just go ahead and do it how you would on a pc? I read some articles about how to use the iso version and terminal and it seems really complicated. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks!

Some specs I think that I want are: 24 inch 1080p or 1440p 60hz or 144hz (will I notice the difference between the two) I’ve found a few monitors in the $150-250 price range that I like, they were mostly 24” 1080p 144hz. If I am spending 400 on my gpu though, should I be trying to buy a more expensive monitor though? Maybe one that offers 1440p 144hz?
  22. This is my first PC build, I've already chosen the internals basically, and purchased some of them: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/dsong98/saved/g6m9NG ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ryzen 5 3600 Radeon 5700xt MSI b450 Tomahawk Max Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Western Digital SN750 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Questions: Not sure what PSU to get, but I think one that is 550-600 watts? One person recommended Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply For case: debating between NZXT h510, Meshify C, Metallic Gear Neo Air ATX. Any other recs? Do I need cpu cooler? Thinking of getting hyper 212, but seems like a hassle to make sure it has the mounting bracket. If I didn't get it, I could just spend that money on the Meshify C instead which has pretty good airflow.
  23. I just added a screenshot to show what it looks like. I will also try to contact my university soon to see if they can help me resolve it!
  24. I have an icon on my home screen that I can't delete. I don't believe it is an application, as when I click on it, it brings up a site on safari. When I hold on the app to delete it, it just gives me the option to Share Bookmark, and edit home page. I remember that it got on my phone through my university, I believe while I was trying to set up my school Outlook email onto my mail app. My IT department said I needed to download this app from the internet. I've tried to go into General > Settings > Finding the app and deleting it, but the icon does not show up here. Since it looked like it might be a safari bookmark, I tried to find the bookmark in Safari and remove that, but I could not locate it. I am not really sure what else I can do to remove it. Any suggestions? Would connecting it to my computer and removing it through iTunes work?

Seeing as they have them for $6-10 bucks on amazon, it wouldn’t hurt to get one right? I’m looking at the nzxt h510 at the moment, and it seems that it doesn’t have the best airflow.
