  1. I think i'm going for this DESIGNARE one,.. My I7 8700 will fit perfectly thanks to the 1151 platform, i still have a lot of room if i need to upgrade it in the future (up to an I9 -9900KS, i'm super safe, lool). As i'm working in a home studio, where the room is acousticaly traited and isolated, i might will delidding the CPU and put some liquid metal. Then mouting something like a Heligon HE02 or a DEEPCOOL Lucifer K2 Gamer Storm, in the case i upgrade to a much stronger CPU later (though i'm a litlle afraid that my RAM will not ruin this, i have to check). Desactivating the case fans and GPU fans when it's not needed for less dB. I will put my two 980ti, stock fans, in SLI, simple and clean, they never let me down. Displayed on my current Lenovo G34w-10, a 2K wide curved screen for my mixing tracks, really conveniant, + a 28 inch full HD LG (wich i might ending to sold). Waiting for the 3080 annoucement to see if it's deserves the cost... The 4x4go G.Skill Ram in dual channel, that's enough of ram and speed for my usage. I'm not going to change them unless i'm always at 100% usage. As i said, i'm just a little affraid if it's not going to bother the super huge CPU heatsink. I will add an Intel Optane in the first M2 slot for the Os and my main softwares (like Unreal Engine, Autocad, Fruity Loops/Reason and Pro Tools) wich is super conveniant to manage all of the I/Os like midi peripherals, bluetooth etc because i have some blue screens currently when i'm using too much peripherals at the same time. Then my current 500go M2 nvme ssd will go in the other M2 Slot. with that, my 1To SATA SSD + my 5 hard drives in the rest of the sata ports for data and redundancy. I'm thnking to add an AIC in the third pciex16 slot, but i'm affraid that it's not going to be usefull and it's cost a lot for a minimal improvement. The Apollo 8p will go right into an adaptateur tunderbolt 3 to type-C, then it goes in one of the two thunderbolt ports, daisy chained with the two UAD-2 Satellites, and i still have one another TB port for... I don't know but it's very cool. All of this in a most compact ATX case possible who can contain the huge CPU heatsink and the GPUs, with a front facing USB-C panel. Tell me if something is wrong in anything i listed or improvement that will help me in the longer term, i really don't wanna mess up as it's a consequent investissment for me and it's like the central element of my house, i work/play/create/earn my life with it. Thank you so much for your advices. I'm going already in the good way.
  2. As i mention before, it can be tricky, i've already was in this situation were the motherboard don't support the protocole so it would not run the pcie card. Being built in will be more easier. In fact if most of things can be inegrated in the mobo it can be way better but if i don't have other choice i will take a pcie. Ho didn't thinked of this, that's a cool option.
  3. Thank you for your answer ! Well, i really want to keep this 8700 as i never reach it's full potential. I had to much issues witrh pce extension for thunderbolt, if you want to add one, your motherboard have to support it...but without the connection port, and i prefer to keep the pcie slot for something else in the futur, so adding a cost for those type of cards is not accurate for me. Thank you for the quad channel thing, i didn't even know that. I'm going to check this gigabyte, thank you EDIT : Unfortunately, this motherboard doesn't support SLI, but Crossfire
  4. Hello people ! I bet you can't find me the motherboard of my dreams ! (because i can't) I want to upgrade for something very versatile and accurate. Socket 1151 for my I7 8700. Music production, so i need a thunderbolt 3 connexion for my Apollo Octo 8p daisy chained with two UAD-2 Satellites. I'm working on Unreal Ungine and gaming too, so SLI compatible (for my two 980ti) displayed on a 35 inch 2k wide screen 144HZ Lenovo monitor If it can be compatible Quad Channel it will be very great for my 4x4Go DDR4. Otherwise, a dual channel is enough. Form factor isn't important, but micro ATX is appreciated. WIFI built in is highly appreciate (as i can have issues with my PLCs, who knows)µ I have many peripherals that i would like to use in bluetooth without taking a usb slot for a dongle, like a switching keyboard between th mac, the tablet and stuff..) , but not a 100% needed, but appreciable. USB-C is super dupper appreciate (usb-c everything !) No need for fancy rgb or advanced overclocking support. On top of that at the best price, just to be clear, i'm from Europe (France), so any fancy local american market are not accurate for me lol Must Have : Socket 1151 SLI Compatible Thunderbolt 3 (not 1, not 2) Well appreciate : Quad Channel Memory Support (Dual is ok) WIFI built in USB-C micro ATX Bluetooth support Thank you guys, i'm really struggling to find something that can satisfied me. If you find it, you will be my Human of the Year ! (it worth what it's worth...)
