StrawberryShortCakes reacted to jaslion in Replacement for my logitech G613
I like my sharkoon purewrite xl. Because these are low profile khali red switches (the low profile part is what I wanted) very pleasant typing experience and they now have a rgb one that allows you to put it in white (mine is stuck on blue).

StrawberryShortCakes reacted to Bombastinator in Just checking about CPU/APU launch
Not that I know of. 4000apus (zen2) launched fairly recently, which makes the delay between zen2 CPUs and zen2 apus to be over a year. Doesn’t mean it will be the same for zen3apus but breath holding might be counter productive.
AMD has a bit of a problem in that Xe has a lot of performance. I don’t know what that will mean for AMD apu launches.

StrawberryShortCakes got a reaction from Praesi in What do you guys look for when picking parts?
Usually I go for twin towers, like with my core 500 the only twin can fit was the Fuma 2
Do artics come in black? So far in Singapore I've only seen white ones.
Core 500 for itx and NR400 non-tg edition for Matx, I've seen and used both they're very well built.
Sweet, just build my first PC about 7 months ago went itx to save space. Otherwise the looks are bare minimum, but performance wise it's a ferrari in a junker shell.

StrawberryShortCakes reacted to Prodigy_Smit in Should my friend still use a hdd or external hdd
Internal would be better, he might be able to have both the drives in the system together. Check if he can buy more because the price difference between 10TB and 6 TB is not much.

StrawberryShortCakes reacted to shoutingsteve in Is this normal?
it is REALLY hard to hurt your system from heat without overclocking. Obviously it happens sometimes to people, and we all hear about it, but remember that most people on here are way better at listening to their systems than the average user. The fact that you asked this question in the first place tells us that you pay attention enough to keep yourself from frying anything. Plus, most hardware is designed to shut down before it burns up.

StrawberryShortCakes reacted to Eschew in Questions about custom made keyboards
Hey there.
Plenty. Above, gloop's answered your question (look for boards with hot-swappable PCBs) and also mentioned the GMMK -- a solid board for a first-timer, goes for at least $59.99 (barebones, no switches, no keycaps) or $109.95 (pre-built, Gateron Brown switches). Full-size, TKL, and 60% versions are available in ISO layout as well. Other hot-swappable choices:
XD87 HS PCB/Keyboard Kit (KPrepublic): TKL Keyboard. Wired. Compatible with PCB-Mounted Switches. GK61/GK61x/GK61xs Keyboard Kit (Amazon, Aliexpress): 60% Compact Keyboard. GK61x is wired. GK61xs is wireless (Bluetooth). Compatible with PCB-Mounted Switches. ZH0750 Keyboard Kit (KBDfans): 60% Compact Keyboard. Wired. Compatible with PCB-Mounted Switches. Keyboard kits are equipped with PCB, stabilizers, a mounting plate, case, and cables (if applicable). They do not include keycaps or switches unless otherwise specified.
Slightly uncertain what you mean by 'hot-swappable switches,' so I'll just focus on the 'silent' and 'linear' part. Most, if not all, the switches below have dampeners inside the switch that cushions the impact and sound of a keystroke. Listed in no particular order:
Rosélios/Sakurios (ZealPC) Healios (ZealPC) Kailh BOX Silent Pinks (NovelKeys) Gateron Silent Black Inks (NovelKeys) Gateron Silent Reds/Yellows/Blacks (NovelKeys) Cherry MX Silent Reds/Silent Blacks (NovelKeys, KBDfans) I'd also argue that for linear switches, silence depends partly (mostly?) on the keyboard mounting plate/faceplate material. General rule of thumb is that denser materials create higher-pitched sounds. What you hear from typing normally on linear switches is the clack of the keyboard. Slowly bottoming out on any linear switch should give you a smooth physical experience and little to no auditory feedback (definitely no clicks). 🤔
Max Keyboards offers a selection of translucent keycaps with legends:
ANSI Layout Keycap Sets (Filtered Search: Polycarbonate) ANSI Custom White Translucent Top Backlight Keycap Set (Top Print, Side Print) ISO Custom White Translucent Top Backlight Keycap Set (Top Print, Side Print) There might be other vendors selling translucent keycaps with black legends. I'd suggest checking out marketplaces like Aliexpress, Banggood, or eBay?

StrawberryShortCakes reacted to HM-2 in Need advice on painting a case white (Fractal Design Core 500)
Automotive primer should work fine on powder coated surfaces as long as you do decent prep beforehand. Don't forget to wash everything down after sanding. Depending on the paint and primer you might need to flat between coats, I use soft sanding pads (Abralon) because there's less chance of them burning through on corners.

StrawberryShortCakes reacted to startrek03 in Need advice on painting a case white (Fractal Design Core 500)
You can definitely try it. I'd suggest trying it on a test surface, that's powder coated as well. If it doesn't come off by rubbing or so you should be fine. Otherwise test a different primer.

I'd say that's not a good idea, they may have very different connector pinouts.
