  1. The third motherboard came and it worked out of the box. Can't believe I had to go through 2 DOA motherboard... but anyway for the future reader - if your ryzen 5 3600 isn't posting consider telling your retailer to do the upgrade and test the board before they ship to you.
  2. Would you recommend me to do the very first boot with this third board on my fully functioning evga 650w psu which Im currently using on my i7? This video shows the same build with my same ram kit together with the msi b450i https://m.facebook.com/MSIGamingUSA/videos/10158269273598084/ Fingers are really crossed for tomorrow as there isnt anything else I can do..
  3. Well, that's the second board going back to the retailer for RMA. Third board with BIOS ugprade coming, also told the technician to test the board before shipping to me. Fingers crossed. But I'm scared of the outcome...
  4. Would you say that the board won't show any sign of power even with an old BIOS that isn't compatible with r5 3600?
  5. A little update: I called in to my retailer and they found out that they have forgotten to upgrade my BIOS before sending the board. My question is now would a MSI b450i show no sign of life without CPU / or an incompatible CPU - in this case a ryzen 5 3600? I'm getting no debug LEDs on this board...
  6. Thank you for your comment and that is indeed extremely odd to hear. My current psu on the i7 is the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650 W and the new psu is the Bequiet! Sfx L 500W. Being the two very popular model they are I dont think they would be incompatible with this board but maybe someone else with the same components might shine light into this issue. Edit: and thinking about this I feel like a faulty 2nd mobo is more likely?
  7. As you said, I feel like I have ruled out PSU, RAM, CPU, GPU to be the problem. Its all pointing towards that MB being also faulty. Which is so strange given that they have upgraded the BIOS for me. Have I done something stupid and made damage to the board? I have built computers before and have never encountered something like this...
  8. Sorry I dont understand what you meant. But Im sure that the 24pin and 8pin cpu power from the psu is correctly connected to the board. And given that I have two working psu to test with, I feel like it can't be the culprit.
  9. Yes both boards showed no sign of power. I used the bequiet psu on my i7 setting and it works perfectly. Then I used my working psu on that i7 setup on the new build and it doesnt power anything up. I tried different wall socket and it doesnt make a difference. All work fine on my i7 setup.
  10. Hi everyone First of all thank you for taking the time to read this post. I have just received my 2nd replacement motherboard (msi b450i) and replacement cpu (ryzen 5 3600). Long story short my mobo is not showing any sign that its receiving power, no fan spins, no leds, no debug leds and this was the case of the first board I have received as well. My specs are as follow: Msi b450i Ryzen 5 3600 Corsair rgb pro 3200 mhz 16gb RAM Bequiet sfx l 500w psu Gigabytes geforce 1660 Nzxt h210i Crucial ssd 500gb What I have done to troubleshoot (I have a working i7 second computer to test some components with): - tested the PSU on my second computer which works perfectly. I also tested my new build with my current working PSU which still results in no sign of life - tested the two ram sticks on my other computer and also tried my old corsair lpx pair - breadboarded and resetted cmos. Also tried to short the power with screwdriver. And tried to power on with my working fractal design meshify c case - replaced cpu with another brand new ryzen 5 3600 - tried one ram stick, on each slot. Tried bootung without gpu, without cpu... no sign of life. Have I received a defected second board? What are the chances of that... then to top it off, I had requested scan.co.uk (my retailer) to upgrade the bios for this board to be compatible for ryzen 5 3600k. Which means this board must have worked at their warehouse. EDIT: I called in to my retailer and they found out that they have forgotten to upgrade my BIOS before sending the board. My question is now would a MSI b450i show no sign of life without CPU / or an incompatible CPU - in this case a ryzen 5 3600? I'm getting no debug LEDs on this board... Please help me, Im so stressed out because of this. Thank you!
