BagelMonster got a reaction from jayctech in Are Macbook Airs good or should i buy another laptop?
As someone who has used a windows laptop, desktop PC and mac book air here is my opinion:

I started college with a desktop replacement PC (one of those bulky gaming ones) and it was horrible. The battery life was horrid and I had to lug around a 6lb laptop + the giant brick of a charger. Keep in mind that gaming laptops these days are much thinner and lighter so it might be fine now. If you're going to college, you're going to have days where you need your battery life to last you the entire day (6+ hours) and I have come to appreciate battery life as one of the most important factors when choosing a mobile computing device. I eventually sold my laptop and built a desktop for my gaming/heavy computing purposes and bought a Macbook Air. As someone who uses both windows and OS X on a daily basis, I really enjoy OS X on a laptop (but would never get an OS X desktop) especially for productivity. The battery life is AMAZING (10+ hours full charge while doing light web browsing and note taking). No windows trackpad comes close to being comparable to the Macs. I would easily buy a Mac laptop over a Windows just for the superior trackpad (it is that good). With that said, the Macbook Air isn't for everyone. You might have to run programs that are windows specific (although you can bootcamp, but I some people would just prefer windows) or you just can't get used to the Mac OS.

With regards to getting a Surface Pro 3 or another tablet solution, here is something to consider, especially if you're going to college/university. Not every classroom or lecture hall have tables! And the keyboard/stand for the surface or any other tablet is not stable enough on your lap (or even small fold out lecture tables) to comfortably type notes on. But the surface can be really useful for some people. Engineers/Chemistry/Art majors would probably benefit the most because you need to draw and use the pen a lot. Of course spec wise, the surface pro is superior to the Macbook air, but TBH for note taking and other productivity applications, it really doesn't matter.

ALSO one final note, if your computer crashes or anything happens, Apple stores are readily available in most major cities and they can service your computer relatively quickly. Window laptop manufacturers usually only have one or two RMA centres in the country if any, and would require you to ship the laptop there, etc and can be a real hassle especially as a student.

    TLDR:

Buy a laptop with good battery life above all else Would recommend Macbook Air for college students  Surface Pro 3 is good too, especially for Engineers, Chemistry and Art students; but there are some drawbacks  Hope this helps!

BagelMonster got a reaction from LIGISTX in MSI Z97S Krait Edition
Does anyone know anything about its release date? I'm thinking about getting this for a NZXT H440 White/Black build. This board looks sick, and according to a german site its going to ~$119 Euros which is roughly $170 CAD. What are your thoughts on this board?
