  1. Do you remember what you did which triggered this problem for you in GTA 5. For me it started when for the first time I turned on Nvidia TXAA. I think somehow it is related to this. Since TXAA is suppose to reduce aliasing when camera is moving but exactly opposite happened. Something triggered when I first turned on TXAA. I don't know what and I don't know how to fix this, but before that everything was pretty in GTA 5. I even tried non EG store version, a pirated version but all looked the same after that.
  2. If you wanna see a screenshot I can do that. FPS are important because the shimmering, LOD will not be visible if you don't move around which is extremely painful with 5-10 FPS on screen. Also It's not my brother's laptop and it doesn't have Win 8 (it's a Win 10 Laptop). I don't know if you are being sarcastic or have taken me for someone else.
  3. Dude that's quite interesting. Because I also modded Neir Automata. I was playing Neir Automata before starting GTA 5. And it started few days after starting with GTA 5. Could be unrelated but Interesting nevertheless.
  4. As a matter of fact I did try GTA 5 on my laptop but it couldn't run it with the same settings as my PC. If I record on my laptop it will look same and will not be a valid comparison. Even with the resolution of 720P my laptop hardly manages 28-30 FPS with all AA Off. The game looked awful and hence I didn't record a video. If you can recommend some game which is good for testing and my PC and Laptop can run with same settings I'll be happy to provide the recording. My Laptop has Nvidia 940m with 5th gen intel i5. My PC has intel i7-9700k with RTX 2070
  5. I don't think so. I have an NVIDIA GPU and having these problems. I have noticed that even text on windows for me is jagged. I don't know what to do now. Even reading text on my PC is painful. In Games apart from having Jaggies and Crawling/Shimmering I'm having weird shadows. For some games shadows Flickers for some it's pixelated and correct itself only when I move closer. So no it's not AMD driver problem. Many of us are having this on Nvidia GPUs too, hell soem of us even noticed this on Integrated GPUs as well
  6. Yes even I think that people in this forum, though having similar symptoms have all the different causes. But I believe at this point everyone must have installed-reinstalled their drivers countless times. I myself have clean installed windows twice and the problem isn't going anywhere. But what I believe is for some of us it can be a sign of failing GPU or failing PSU and they simply are not ready to test that possibility out because many times in this forum people have suggested against it, that changing hardware will not fix the problem. We need to isolate the fixable cases from the real problem by first testing things out. For me it's not happening on my other devices, so might be my GPU is failing. I'll soon test a new GPU, PSU combination to rule out this possibility. And I think all of us should rule out these before saying that the issue is unsolvable, because for you it might be because of totally different cause and is just a matter of reinstalling drivers or replacing some hardware.
  7. I'm having this problem only on my Gaming PC. I have a Macbook Pro, a Windows Laptop and a SmartPhone. All my devices are working properly, just the PC which is having this weird issue. My Windows Laptop is not much of a gaming machine but I could try creating a side by side comparison video of GTA 5 on my laptop and PC. The difference is huge.
  8. I uninstalled the EGS and downloaded the Cracked version. But the Shimmering was still there. So I went ahead and formatted everything on my PC and installed the Windows again. Paused the Automatic Windows Updates before connecting to internet, installed MB chipset and audio drivers and Nvidia Drivers, fired up GTA 5 and guess what..? Nops nothing changed not a thing, Shimmering is still there and not only to GTA 5 but to Witcher 3, COD Black OPS 3 and Pretty much every game except Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. So no it's not C++ Visual Basics Libraries as I haven't installed anything over my fresh window install. It is not EGS either as the issue reproduced on Cracked version also. Now I'm beginning to think it's a electricity issue of some sort, but again somewhere in my mind I still think that the exact same electricity issue happening all over the globe and effecting so many people exactly the same is really unlikely. I don't think it's a virus either. I'm really confused should I send my GPU for RMA, but I don't think it will yeild anything either...?
  9. This is now becoming more evident that the problem might me because of Epic Games or some patches in GTA 5 which weren't there in your cracked version. Maybe some Rockstar game patch caused this problem but then why the hell it's affecting every single Game on my PC. I'll try a cracked version after uninstalling EPIC games launcher myself to check. NOTE: Our issue seems to be similar but I certainly think that the cause in our case (For us who developed the problem after EGS GTA 5 installation) is different and maybe we could fix it.
  10. Damn it started for me few days after installing GTA 5 as well. This can't be a Co-incidence. @hellgatsu too got this problem after installing GTA 5. We need to investigate towards it. Maybe Epic Games launcher creating this problem...?? Or something that came along with GTA 5..? @hellgatsu did you try fresh Window Install and directly hit other games without installing GTA 5 from EPIC games or without installing EPIC Games launcher..??
  11. So you are saying that all my games has always been a shimmering hell and we never noticed it? I'm sorry but I don't agree with your opinion. I have been gaming since last 10 years and I think I would have noticed this extreme shimmering if it had always been there. For me GTA 5 worked well for few days untill I lowered the few settings while playing to get a few more FPS. After that no matter what I do the problem is not going away. BTW which game videos you watched on you tube. Maybe that game genuinely has this problem or maybe the uploader too is facing with the same issue as us. I'm sure if you look for more videos for that game you will find some without any shimmering.
  12. Ok Maybe we have a different cause with the same symptoms. But people here did a complete new builds and the issue was still there on a completely different PC. So a stuck cache is unlikely since it reproduced on entirely different build. But again as I said maybe we have a different cause having same symptoms hence any solution is worth trying.
  13. I have a legit copy of Windows and yes it keeps downloading updates frequently. But I don't think it's Windows or drivers. People here have tried Linux and had none positive results. But it might be possible that we are having an entirely different issue with the same symptoms. Did you try fresh Windows Install ??. I didn't. I DDUed my drivers, rolled back to previous version of drivers, reset CMOS, changed power outlets but nothing fixed the issue. Only thing remaining is trying a Windows reinstall..
  14. Was it a mess for you from the very beginning ? For me GTA 5 worked perfectly gorgeous for few days until I messed around with the settings and ever since all my games are now beyond you would say playable. I never started the new game campaign with TXAA ON and all went well for few days until I did. I think when for the first time I turned on TXAA something happened. I don't know what but this is what I think. BTW which GPU do you have. I have RTX 2070.
  15. Guys, I have been affected by this same mysterious issue. I have gone through every page of this thread (Yes all 139 pages) and tried various fixes that worked for some people, like resetting CMOS, moving to different outlet, reinstalling the drivers, Nvdia Control panel etc. It started after I installed GTA 5 from EPIC Game store, as you know it was free there few days ago, everything was fine for few days with GTA 5, I generally crank my graphics up before starting any New game campaign and if the performance is not satisfactory I work my way down with graphics settings to get the desired FPS. So I started GTA 5 with everything maxed out and everything was crystal clear and I was amazed how good this game looks. However I was having few frames dips around the vegetation and where there is a lot of grass. Hence I thought lowering few settings down would be a good idea. I lowered the MSAA to X2 with FXAA ON and TXAA ON. (Earlier MSAA was at X8 with FXAA ON and TXAA was unconfigurable and was off). Everything went downhill after that. A lot of shimmering, jagged edges and everything you guys have been discussing here over 139 pages. I obviously turned all my settings to as they were before but that didn't fixed anything. More-ever this has now been happening to all my games ever since and I'm desperately looking for a solution or at least wanted to know what is causing this. Over 100's of pages I think it's not hardware related.
