Relative of mine needed a USB to VGA adapter and found one quite cheap, tried it at work, because I didn't trust it to wanted to test it out first.
First two laptops I tried it on, it didn't work with it. The way it should work, you plug it in, install an .exe, reboot and it should work. It just didn't work at the last step.
Than I thought "maybe it's just not strong enough, these laptops", so I grabbed a 1300 euro model, thinking "surely it must work with this" and it caused it to not be able to boot up again... So I had to reinstall Windows on that thing.
Needless to say, I didn't buy this adapter for him.

'T was this thing: https://www.digitus.info/en/products/computer-accessories-and-components/computer-accessories/graphic-adapters/da-70455/
It is either branded by Digitus or Assman (what a name)...
I have only found one other review which mentioned you needed to download some sort of driver for the product to work and I did see a drive listed on their webpage, but this was mentioned no where in the instruction manual (yeah, that flimsy piece of papers with directions), plus you had to install some executable so you would expect that to be packaged in with it too. Possibly it would work with that driver, but:
1. Why wouldn't this be mentioned anywhere?
2. Why would they not include this???3. Why would it have made it so laptop no. 3 wouldn't boot up again?
