  1. I have been having the same problem with my pc. I get a little red light on my motherboard showing it is something with the CPU. I have taken out the CMOS battery (which is a common solution I have heard) and placing it back after a few minutes. The other solution that I have yet to try is reapplying thermal paste and reseating the CPU. I don't know if this is the exact problem you are having but I didn't want to start a new thread because my problem is so similar. I want to make sure that the thermal paste is the problem before I start messing with my CPU but these are some ideas that I hope help.
  2. My bad. I have never actually built a system with a fully modular psu. That is just what I was told so I have been building with semi modular
  3. I mean I have built a few PCs. From my experience that isn't bad. I don't know too much about GPUs and I usually build AMD systems so I can't really help there. But I do have the same case (very good and has 3 fans for better cooling) The obly I would recommend is getting a semi modular power supply. The one you have is fully modular meaning it has all of the cables locked in the back. Semi modular is usually better because you plug in what you need and don't plug in what you don't need. With fully modular you kind of just shove the extra cables into open space. Your motherboard is also MicroATX and the case can fit ATX sized boards so you are going to have a LOT of extra space inside. You can get a micro ATX case and still fit everything fine
  4. I apprecaite the suggestions, but woild prefer an AMD system. Also, I have been helping another friend build a pc with the Corsair Airflow case and we can't find some of the cables in it, so I honestly don't trust it/idk if my friend forgot to buy certain parts.
  5. I made a few edits to the build (upgraded to 32 GB of RAM and the Red Devil GPU) any other recommendations? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/79mfhk
  6. One thing I forgot to mention that might be important is the GPU shluld be VR Ready as well. Sorry I didn't mention that. Is this GPU Vr Ready? I can't find details about that If it isn't I'm sure the budget for the GPU can fluctuate
  7. So the budget is a little more than I expected. We can pour a bit more money into a better graphics card. Which would you recommend? Probably still under $600
  8. The build is actually $1128.90 right now. The EVGA RTX 3050 was actually only $329.99 which I thought was a great deal! When I built my pc I got a GTX 1660 Super for $324
  9. So this build should be all good? Even with a game as demanding as Halo Infinite?
  10. Budget (including currency): $1200 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Overwatch, Halo Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): As of now (edits to be done soon):Ryzen 5 5600X, MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB, Samsung Evo Plus 1 TB, EVGA GeForce RTX 3050 8GB, Phanteks Eclipse P400A, EVGA BQ 80+ Bronze 600W I am helping a friend build a new pc. I was looking at some of the recommended specs for Halo Infinite and it suggested a Ryzen 7 3700X or better. Then I searched, can a Ryzen 5 run Halo Infinite on High settings, it said a Ryzen 5 5600x will do just fine. I plug it into pcpartpicker with the motherboard and it says"The MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard supports the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor with BIOS version 7C91vA4. If the motherboard is using an older BIOS version, upgrading the BIOS will be necessary to support the CPU." I have never done a BIOS update and I don't really want to have to do one. Should I be concerned if this message popped up or will it work? I have no idea if this motherboard uses an older version of BIOS. Also if you have any more recommendations for parts I can switch around and stay in the budget, please let me know. Thanks,
  11. 1. The case is the Corsair 4000D Airflow. I can check for hidden cables next time I see him 2. We did try plugging the keyboard in the back too, but we could not get any of them to work. When we turned on the pc it did display the Motherboard brand. After that, it just turns black.
  12. I was helping one of my friends build his first pc. We got everything put together that we could but ran into a few problems. 1. There is no cable for usb in the case. When I built my pc, there was a cable that connected the usb ports on the pc into the motherboard. We searched everywhere and we can't find any cables for usb. 2. When we turn on the pc and hook it up to the monitor it displays a black screen. My first thought is this is because we haven't been able to finish the setup because we need a keyboard (connected via usb which doesn't work) to finish the set up. I am not sure if this is part of the same problem but the pc also does not turn off when we push the power button. We need to hold it down 5+ seconds and unplug the power supply. If anyone could help me out here, we both would appreciate it very much. I understand that you may need a parts list to help out so if you need it, let me know and I can get it from my friend. Thanks :)
  13. I found out today we have a late 2015 Mac Mini model and a late 2012 model. We decided we were not going to upgrade to the M1 because it doesn't meet the requirements we need for outputs and all. We decided to go the PC route. By going with the PC we can solve our output issue easily by getting an sdi card Our tech team director thinks we should have a dGPU because we have to run a very powerful program with multiple outputs. Which would be a good starting place?
  14. Let me just make sure I got this all right. If we have the older Mac Mini model it would be best to just get the newer one? And if we have the newer one then the PC I have works fine. Intel Core i7 9700K ASRock B365 Phantom Gaming Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB Ram Western Digital Blue 500 GB Ssd Phanteks Eclipse P400A EVGA BQ Semi Modular 600 W PSU
  15. If we are getting a new pc then we will probably go with windows. But if we go to the upgrade Mac Mini obviosuly macOS then. We are also streaming the service so I don't know if that means I need to upgrade what I have been working on.
  16. It is the M1 Mac Mini I believe and it is quite a few years old. I have been working on the tech team for years and I think it is still the same computer
  17. I'm sorry I should have mentioned this earlier. Since I am less educated in the ways of PC building, do you think that what I have now would be better than a Mac Mini? (That is what we are upgrading from) https://www.apple.com/mac-mini/specs/
  18. Ok so I did end up moving to an Intel Core i7 9700k which does have the integrated graphics (Intel UHD Graphics 630) and got rid of the GTX 1650 G6. And niw with Propresenter 7 would it be best to keep the 16 GB of RAM or can I get away with 8 GB?
  19. Ok so I made some edits. I do still want to make sure it is powerful because I don't know what kind of upgrades we may need for the future. I moved to a Ryzen 5 3600 processor MSI Mag B550 Tomahawk motherboard And an EVGA GTX 1650 G6 Are these parts still good enough to meet the requirements? Also I am still unsure how to get the SDI outputs on the PC. Is there a separate video card I need?
  20. Well I have only built one pc before and I am working on my second build. As for a starting place, I would recommend starting with a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. Maybe build a system around that. That is where I started. My system can run minecraft perfectly fine. I have a GTX 1660 super GPU to help with that. I really don't know what kind of parts would be best for Valorant because I don't play it but I hope I at least helped give you a starting place. Good luck with your build!
  21. Budget (including currency): $2000 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ProPresenter 7 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): As of now: Ryzen 7 5800X Gigabyte B550M DS3H micro atx am4 board (i realize a BIOS update may be necessary) Cosair Vengeance LPX 16 GB Ram Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2 SSD THE BIG THING: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 gb gaming x Basically I am making a PC for my church. We are trying to get this pc to have many different outputs (a stage display, projector display, etc.) I think this is all good but I just wanted to make sure these parts would work for having many outputs but still powerful enough to have good graphics. Any recommendations for changes to help? Also I need to get an additional video card for SDI outputs. I really do not know how those work. Does anyone know what I need to get to have the PC have 4 SDI outputs?
  22. We are playing the slides on a projector to show lyrics to songs, and a screen in the back that has a stage display. We are using ProPresenter 7 for the slideshow. Yes play videos that we would import into Propresenter to display on the projector.
  23. Now that I typed that out, I realize it is all wrong. We are using this pc for a slideshow to show lyrics to songs in the house not stream
  24. Budget (including currency): Preferably $1000 or under but my max budget is $1500 (US dollars) Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ProPresenter 7 Other details: I have only built one pc specifically for gaming. I don't stream with it so I have no idea what parts are best for streaming. I'm working on this project with someone else and he said we need multiple display outputs, good graphics capabilities, 4 sdi outputs, and 1 hdmi output. Anyone know what parts would be good for a build like this? (Specifically a GPU and CPU that are powerful enough and meet these requirements)
  25. @WaggishOhio383 You were asking about what error came up. It said "Unhandled Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" What does this error mean? Also I did open it from the Virtual desktop button in the oculus menu like you circled, and this same thing came up.
