  1. something like this could work instead: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Processor-Wraith-Stealth-Cooler/dp/B07B41WS48/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=ryzen+5&qid=1625154786&sr=8-2
  2. Seems pretty good, though that cpu defenetly doesn't need that cooler, unless you are going to overclock. You could get away with a ryzen 5 with stock cooler, mine runs very well, so if you don't take that cooler you could up your cpu budget and get a better cpu. But its up to you, the rest is seems good.
  3. Gta V seems to run decent on most computers, I'd say you should go for older games, as they usually run good on pc's without good graphics card. Legue of legends might be for you Minecraft is a really great option. War thunder (if you're into ww2 games, its free btw) Need for speed Most wanted 2005 is one of the best nfs games, it runs on every pc out there, I've played trough it multiple times, pretty fun. Heroes of might and magic 3, though its an RTS Some older assasins creed games are very fun, like the first ones, I used to love them and they ran on my intel cleron 2 core no gpu laptop Not sure if you can run but Witcher 3 is 5 bucks now and one of the best game out there, really great, maybe with some graphics tweaking you could run it on low 30 fps Sims 4 if you're into that Skyrim might run for you, though also not sure, its also very good to play sometimes Euro truck simulator 2 or American truck sim if youre into that type of games. CsGo Older gta games are very fun (Gta 3, vice city, san andreas) You might like them Warframe pretty fun especially with friends, but grindy You can also look for free games out there, maybe you will find something you enjoy, free games are great as you can try out and see if you like them if not, it was free so no money wasted.
  4. Well, those spikes are mostly normal, it could be that in your bios auto overclock is enabled, it was for me enabled on stock, so if those spikes worry you, you can check that. Otherwise as long as you don't go over 85-90 degrees (Celsius) you should be fine, they probably are boost thing for ryzen, as I said it was enabled by stock for me, nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't get too hot or overheat Edit: as mentioned by Chris, it also could be the fan curve, you can change that if that worry's you, though with some quick googling many people have temp spikes and as someone on a different thread said: Perfectly normal Ryzen behavior. Not much to worry about as long as your system runs fine imo
  5. That might be, but if it costs that much as in your link, no. thats not an option sadly
  6. Isn't that like the whole point of getting an upgrade..? Am4 with new ryzen cpu? I don't understand what you mean by buy an older one, he needs a good cpu for work...
  7. Are there options with at least like 2 or 3 pci? When I google that it shows me only PCIe news and motherboards with '"LATEST PCIe 4.0 EXTRA FAST" or some shit like that
  8. Well, I'm not the one who needs it, its my dad, he's an engineer and wants to upgrade his pc and has lots of PCI cards that will only work with that, he uses linux at max, sometimes not even an os... So no clue as why exactly he's still keeping those old af cards and stuff, but he cannot find one himself and asked me to help
  9. Hello, I'm looking for Legacy PCI motherboard that has Legacy BIOS, not PCIe, don't get confused, the old PCI, can someone please link me at least a model? I cannot find any when I google it.
  10. I found the issue, it was auto overclock, I turned it off and it runs really well now, I'm going to order a new cooler soon so I should be fine to turn it on again thanks
  11. The overclocking might have damaged your cpu so that is also a probable explanation as to why your cpu could be the problem, most likely unfixable, as cpu insides cannot be fixed if damaged. So that means you're gonna have to deal with it for now until you get a new cpu unfortunately. If you want something on a really tight budget I'd recommend to buy an I3 10th or 11th gen or an i5 10th or 11th gen. Unless you're gonna sell your pc lo. I guess this concludes this for now, until something new comes up doesn't seem like we have much choices if the cpu is damaged, if it's something else yes, there are a lot of fixes, but damaged parts usually have to be replaced, do you still have warranty for it? Though overclocking breaks it so might not work.
  12. How often does your pc crash? And is it crashing now that you aren't overclocking?
  13. Seems to be a bit low for your cpu, as mine get's 140 in jungle in vanilla and 300-400 with optifine, so might be some sort of problem with your cpu
  14. Strange, cpu usually doesn't affect gpu temp's but 38-40 is still not bad so no need to worry unless you're getting 80+ while gaming
  15. Are you using shaders? and how much fps are you getting at 16 chunks?
  16. Honestly considering you're using an intel i9 80 degrees might not be bad for it, but still could be the problem
  17. Seems like 80 degrees on minecraft might not be that much, how many fps are you getting?
  18. It's possible to be a thermal problem, are you using the stock cooler? Also for minecraft 80 degrees is bit too much, I have thermal issues too but I'm using my r5 3600's stock cooler, I'm getting a new one soon, and I'm getting 75 degrees, it shouldn't be that much most likely. If you're using the stock cooler a new one could resolve this issue.
  19. I'd say selling your pc and building a new one would be amazing for you, your cpu still might hold value and your gpu could defenetly give you back 150% or even 200% value. I forgot that intel cpus have pins in motherboard as I'm used to amd, so it's most likely not neccesary to check for bent pins.
  20. This seems like a definitely some sort of cpu problem, can be caused by bent pins so I hope you haven't bent any of them. Seems like the most simple solution would be a new cpu, as you said you don't have much money available i'd recommend going with something cheap, for example for gaming intel I5 10th gen does the job very well. Though I'm not certain that is 100% a cpu problem. Don't be discouraged by pc problems, but if you are selling, I'd recommend selling your gpu now as it can go for 300-400$ on ebay. Building pc's is fun, though sometimes things like this happen. You should check for bent pins and try to fix them if there are, but if you are going to do that be very very careful as the cpu can stick to the cooler, also you'll need new thermal paste.
  21. That's strange, what does it do when it tries to boot up?
  22. You should try not overclocking if you were his whole time, if it helps or reduces frequency of crashes it just might be a problem with your cpu. If it does reduce the amount of crashes but still does, you should underclock your cpu by a little, see if that helps reduce even more or get rid of them, if it does not help, then you can keep overclocking as long as your thermals are good, checking thermals is important.
  23. Now I am NOT suggesting you to do this, this can lead to a total cpu failure, but I had a similar problem a while ago, except any parts didn't fail. My pc was crashing a lot I couldn't figure it out and it turned out my cpu wasn't getting enough voltage, so I increased it I believe by 0.2 volts and it went butter smooth, no crashes and everything was 100% fine. Though you could try doing that except doing that by 0.1 or even 0.05 volts, although be mindful that this is not a good solution and it's a very rare problem, I haven't seen anything online about it even when I searched this. You should run a memory test over night (memtest) to see if you have any problems with your ram. Have you tried updating drivers? Drivers are very important. Also you could check if it's the gpu if you have integrated graphics on your cpu, by taking out the gpu and checking if the crashes still happen, gpu and ram are one of the most often failing parts. Have you checked your thermals? Something could be overheating, anything that reaches 85+ degrees is considered too hot. If you're using a hdd you could check for faulty sectors, although I'm pretty sure you mentioned that you have an nvme. Hope this helps. Edit: you can try to do some stress tests on your pc, there are many softwares for this, stress tests will run a gpu or a cpu heavy tasks to see if they run stably, you should try running both to see if any of them fails. They can be downloaded for free and are fairly simple to do.
  24. Honestly don't know what PBO is so I can't say I turned it on, if it is on it was on by default. I'm pretty sure I did tighten the cooler enough.
