  1. Thank you very much for your and everyone’s advice. Yes I am planning my build. YouTube videos can be great for showing real time performance, but I want to do some quick comparisons with a one stop shop type site. From what I understand of what you are saying, there are no good one stop shop type sites. Thank you again everyone for all your suggestions! If anyone does have any more advice, I am open to it!
  2. Hello everyone, I understand that UserBenchmark is now considered an unreliable site to use to compare parts. I used it before, when it was considered reliable, and I liked how you are able to easily compare two different parts with the two search bars at the top, side by side. Are there any reputable sites that are similar to UB in terms of comparing price, overall performance, performance per games, etc.? Thank you for any of your suggestions!
  3. I am flying out of state for college and I have an atx size computer. Is there anyone who has experiences traveling with their computer? Is it possible to have it as a carry on or do I have to check it in? I still have the box and Styrofoam that the case came with. I do not have any hard drives installed. Thanks to anyone who responds!
  4. I've been waiting for a back order of the Corsair RM550x CP-9020177-NA 550W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD PSU for over 3 weeks now and it's the last thing I need before completing my build. I have no idea when it will be restocked and I've been itching to finish. https://www.newegg.com/corsair-rmx-series-rm550x-cp-9020177-na-550w/p/N82E16817139231?Item=N82E16817139231 Does anyone knows when Corsair will restock? Are there any alternative PSUs I could buy that is around a 100$ (±20$) that is just as good?
  5. This may seem like a stupid question, but is the b550 mobo and the ryzen 5 3600 for sure compatible? or will I not know until it comes out? (partpicker does not have b550s listed in its database)
  6. Budget (including currency): ~$1000 USD Country: United States My aim for building this computer is to be able to play a variety of games as well as use 3D modeling and Adobe programs. I also want to have the option to easily upgrade parts such as the cpu, ram and storage in the future. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-core Processor Motherboard: Either a MSI or Gigabyte B550 ATX Motherboard (when it comes out) RAM: Corsair Vengence LPX 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 memory Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" SSD (I will probably add a HDD later) GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT Power supply: Corsair RM 650 W 80+ Gold certified fully modular PSU Just to make sure: I would need to also get 2 case fans and one cpu fan correct? If there's any suggestions for fans I'm all ears too. If anyone has any critique that would be great! I would also like to know if there's any compatibility issues. For the case, I was planning on taking an old IBM computer desktop that my grandpa has been hoarding to make a sleeper computer. Thank you all for any help anyone can provide!
  7. Does the certification of the psu matter? (as in bronze or gold certification)
  8. Is the b550 that you are referring to new model of the strix that is coming out or a different model?
  9. Budget (including currency): ~$1000 USD Country: United States My aim for building this computer is to be able to play a variety of games as well as use 3D modeling and Adobe programs. I also want to have the option to easily upgrade parts such as the cpu, ram and storage in the future. Right now my build that I have put together on pcpartpicker.com is: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-core Processor Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard RAM: Corsair Vengence LPX 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 memory Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" SSD GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB GAMING X video card Power supply: Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX power supply Again, this is my first attempt at building a PC so any critique would be helpful! If anyone has any insight/advice, that would be helpful too! My biggest concern is whether or not everything is compatible. Thank you all for any help you provide!
