Hey everyone, so my I have a m.2 256GB SSD that I installed on my Windows 10 laptop a few years ago. My laptop came with a 1TB HDD and I used an HDD to SSD OS migrate program to use the SSD as my main boot option. There were never any issues until very recently.
All of a sudden, Windows updates would freeze my SSD at boot. Eventually Windows Recovery would repair the crap updates and I'd continue as if nothing happened. One day as I was browsing the internet, my laptop shutoff and upon rebooting, my SSD went past the Windows boot stage and would get to the "applying Windows Updates screen" for half a second. Then it would loop the process over and over.
I was able to get into the BIOS and actually boot into my HDD but a lot of my apps and programs wouldn't show up because they were installed on the SSD. The good thing is that all my files, music, and pics are still on the HDD.
I've created a bootable USB with Windows to see if I can reinstall Windows 10 on my SSD, as my laptop still detects the disk and the volumes in the Command Prompt. I'm not sure where else to go from here? I'd like to get a concrete diagnosis on what the exact issue is and hope to solve it. Thanks!
