  1. i just saw this on reddit and i wonder if i would need 2 for living room 2 its 7x11 meter
  2. i saw the comparison and i saw this other comparison and spec sheet, on paper it seems xg ap has the best range >ac pro ap > hd ap> nanohd ap and in term of throughput xg ap = hd ap = nanohd ap > ac pro ap so my question was should i pick hd ap over ac pro for throughput over range? or is it just marketing and its different in real world
  3. the video mentioned that for mu-mimo to work it need to have same size data transfer otherwise the other devices would have to wait implying i wont benefit from it, just an added premium. yes i did read your post and watched the video, it state ac-hd is overkill for home use and the only benefit is higher throughput, since my internet speed is 900mbps would i benefit from that extra throughput or is it negligible
  4. i just watched techquickie (is your router lying to you) and now i understand that i should avoid using mu-mimo. but would the 4x4 have better performance than 3x3? this is basically the only concern i have about ac-pro
  5. UniFi Switch 16 PoE vs UniFi Switch PoE 16 (150W) look the same to me but gen1 has higher watt? the reason i said 7 because i was told 5ghz doesnt pass through concrete wall so i thought i would need one behind each wall but if one or two would work for each floor that would be great. how do each ap compare nanohd, hd and pro.
  6. i was thinking with the future proof mind set. the only additional equipment i could add is a local storage and maybe iot although i doubt i would ever buy them, although we have intercom and light timers that we could upgrade to iot would you say switch technology improve fast or can i use a poe switch for the next 10 years, this would determine if i should go with 8 or 16 switch. i got a bit confused with us and usw switch what is the difference as they both have the same price. about the router and ap, i just want to confirm unbiquiti is better than asus? because i dont feel like this question wasnt answered clearly. how many ap do you think i would need for the second floor? is 7 too much?
  7. i thought about dual wan but because the cables are limited to 1gbps i thought its pointless unless i could get close to 2gbps on wifi that would be cool if it achievable. but for now i think im gonna keep them separate. modem/router>router>switch>ap ?? is this correct? about poe i was thinking i would use a switch like unifi 24 poe just to make sure should i keep cat5e or upgrade ?
  8. on speedtest.net both router got 900mbps the modem is hg8244h and router hg659 those are provided by isp. the channels and setting of wifi is the default, encryption wpa2 personal. i wish to upgrade both modems but i cant find any fiberoptic modem online, im gonna upgrade both routers and additional access points. im wondering if i should skip the router and use the modem 4 ports in the back to reduce overhead? or does a router with good processor lowers the load on modem?
  9. by the way modem 1 and room 6 i get 5mbps through 5ghz even though im only 3-4meter away, when i stand in front of the router i get 220mbps with 5ghz ????????? shouldnt it be closer to 600-700mbps or is it limited to less (802.11ac iphone pro 11 max)
  10. my father installed two modems i think both are 700mbps or the second floor is 1gbps not 100% sure, i told him we dont need it but i guess because of 10 years of my childhood i have been complaining of lag i guess, any way modem 1 is gonna be for my use only which is room 6, i may or may not use it for the whole first floor i havent verified if all rooms has ethernet but there is provision for them i just need to rewire them and change the socket, they all should be cat5e. i think the swimming pool doesnt have a ethernet provision but i will see if i could run the wire through the cable tv socket
