For a motherboard, imo the best motherboard would be the Asus Rog Strix X470-F. I would obviously recommend an SSD so like maybe a Samsung 970 Evo Plus - a nice nvme SSD. For a cooler I'm not really sure, depends if you want to water cool your system or not, if not than any good choice of fans in a well placed configuration will be just fine, water cooling is nice though. I'm not the most knowledgable on cooling though, so double check with someone else or some YT tutorial before purchasing any random fan.

Thanks for all the help, I think you're right about the PSU, I'll check if it's still working well and then probably won't have to replace it hopefully, also Im going to look into the CPU bottlenecking the GPU.

This is really just a question to everyone out there, I currently have an i5 6400, GTX 1050 to, 600W PSU - thats all that's really important right now. I want to upgrade my GPU but I'm not sure which option to go with. I can either go to a 1660S and leave it at that or I can go to an RTX 2060 but then I'll need a new PSU and a new case as my current case is not the biggest and psu won't be able to cope very well with that GPU. I feel like the rtx route will be smarter overall for the future, but I might be being very silly so please let me know, any advice / suggesions are very appreciated.
