Yeah that will be great if you don't need b550 features like pcie4, more sata and usb ports, dual m.2 or maybe 3.
B550 is newer and have more features, but B450 will have no problem running that cpu.

You can't go wrong with any B550 motherboard around that price range.

Purple_Llama5 reacted to Zonal in PC Build Help
I’m surprised it didn’t get any replies, usually people are all over this. I would recommend any old cheap motherboard  for the most part, combined with a ryzen 3600. No need for additional cooling unless you want to overclock. For gpu it’s hard to get something of good value with all the stock issues but if you can find a used rx580 or gtx 1070 that could work. Any case is fine, ram I would recommend 8-16gb and speed doesn’t matter too much. Monitor, the spectre monitors are pretty cheap but decent so you could try one of those. Mouse, keyboard, mic, I’m not really sure. For storage it would be worth the money for an ssd even if it’s a smaller one. Not sure exactly the costs of all this but I hope it can serve as a rough outline for your build. Good luck with it!

Purple_Llama5 reacted to ThePointblank in US Considering Banning TikTok
US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has indicated that the US government is looking at banning Chinese social media apps, including TikTok, due to concerns about how Chinese social media companies are handling data about their users:

    From Reuters:

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-tiktok-china-pompeo/pompeo-says-u-s-looking-at-banning-chinese-social-media-apps-including-tiktok-fox-idUSKBN2480DF

The concerns about TikTok's handling of user data stem from the fact that they are owned by a Chinese firm, ByteDance, which was reported to have cooperated with the Chinese government in censoring and surveilling content pertaining to a number of sensitive topics for Beijing, along with the concerns about Chinese law requiring Chinese companies to assist the government in data collection efforts.

Due to these concerns, the app is banned from use on all US and Australian government devices, because of the risk of spying.

The app, TikTok was also fined last year by the FTC for violating child privacy protection laws in the US as well.

Wait till after. Pricing is bad across all components at the moment, with the exception of maybe RAM .(Europe may not be so bad)
Good looking cooler, but expensive. A good air cooler will work fine if you want to save some money.

Will almost certainly be more than enough. Obviously wait until it's released though

Similar to the AIO, it looks great, but its expensive. In a high level build like this though, I would say it's justifiable.

Gotta pick CPU first. I would consider waiting for 4th gen ryzen at the end of the year. If you want a stop gap till then, get a 3300X - it will be fine for gaming.
If you want the best now, probably a 3600/3700X/10600K are the best value for gaming.
If you go AMD, a $160-200 B550 board will be a solid choice.
For intel, a Z490 board is the obvious choice, and try to avoid the Asrock boards.

Lots could change before these new releases, but I hope this helps

How much do you care about aesthetic?

IF: You don't really care much about how it looks but more about how it preforms, THEN go with @marmours build

IF: You would like a pc that you can sit at for hours staring into it's RGB glory, THEN go with my build but lose some computing power...

With my build you get the wonderfully RGB build, you get 3 Corsair case fans to brighten the scene, you get easier to look at memory, a cheaper case, and a bit more storage.

Plus it is right under your budget by $20
The reason I changed you to NVIDIA is because you said that you wanted to do some streaming in the future... if so then you really want to go with a NVIDIA GPU... much better for streaming with help from NVENC

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

Ryzen CPUs go better with faster RAM... if you want Ryzen I would recommend the Ryzen 5 3600 with either 3200Mhz or 3600Mhz of RAM...

Also if you want to do streaming then I don't think you should go with a AMD GPU... I have nothing against them (in fact I have a 5600xt in my build)... but NVIDIA GPUs are so much better for streaming due to NVENC

I like Oswin's build but due to adding the nvidia gpu the build is a tad bit over budget... so I kinda changed a lot of it lol

Purple_Llama5 reacted to marmour in How can I make this cheaper?
Unfortunately cheaper and aesthetics dont go too well together. You could save about $20 on non-rgb ram with higher speeds, but again, that's at the cost of the aesthetics. Could maybe get a cheaper case, like the p300A, but again, it may not be the look you want.

I would also get a slightly better psu if possible. Maybe this one: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/J7F48d/cooler-master-mwe-gold-650-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-mpy-6501-afaag-us
peicing on PSUs kinda sucks at the moment, especially in the US, so the evga will do if you can't scrape the extra cash.
You could try and get the MSI b450 pro carbon wifi if it goes on sale, which would save money on a WiFi card, or else get a b550 with integrated WiFi.

Just another note, keep an eye on the AOC 24G2 if it's in stock. It's also 144hz, but is IPS and can be bought for about $180 when it's available

Apart from that it's a solid build. Enjoy
