  1. HI Everyone on this thread, So I have found the problem with my machine, I decided take it to our local ASUS Tech workshop and the following was found (On my machine as we don't know if this is on all of the FX505DV models) My machine was freaking out because of the VRAM's on both the CPU and GPU were overheating - the reason for this is that from the factory my machine got shipped with thermal paste on the VRAM's which did not conduct the heat to the heat-pipe cooling very well The solution was to replace the thermal paste on the VRAM's of both the CPU and GPU with good quality thermal Pads instead, so far under heavy load with the GPU and CPU loaded with rendering tasks which usually pushed my machine to 106 degrees Celsius, it is now staying below 95 degrees on the CPU and 83 degrees on the GPU and I have massively increased performance across the board. I hope this really helps someone PS- This might not help everyone as we also found that my machine has a faulty chip-set which will be replaced in a month or so as soon as they get the parts shipped in ( The symptoms of my faulty chip-set has been 1- Overvolting of the CPU, 2- Wifi and Bluetooth devices dropping out of signal, 3- USB devises disconnecting intermittently and 4- Over driving of the fans resulting in bearing damage to the fans and some other odds and ends that I cannot remember right now ) Thanks for everyone on this thread for the advice and tips. Peace
  2. Please keep me updated , Sorry I have been inactive for awhile, if ASUS can help you please let me know
  3. I have the exact same problem , and I have had mine replaced due to a faulty fan , and I have had this CPU problem from day 1 , I have not found a solution yet , thus posting here, I thought someone might be able to help
  4. Is there any program that I can use to track CPU usage vs apps, Because whenever this happens, task manager also lags behind, so that did not work for me
  5. It Could be, But is there any reason why ? because I would be really upset if I have to do a fresh install and it does not fix the problem
  6. Pre-warning, first post here so sorry for wrong format if it is wrong I have this random problem - While playing any games or even rendering some CAD drawings using Vectorworks - Sometimes even just browsing the net, my CPU usage would spike from +- 24-40% (When under normal game or CAD load) to 100% for almost 2 seconds resulting in lag spikes or game stuttering while this happens, I have been experiencing this problem for almost a month now - This laptop is around 2 months old. If you have any advice or tips please shout PS- I have updated my Bios , Drivers, and everything else possible, the problem still persists, I also have no known apps running in the background sucking up CPU usage that I can see, It is also not a thermal throttle problem as my laptop is always below 80 degrees Celsius , on both CPU and GPU - Already did malware and virus checks, fresh windows install is not an option at this point.
