  1. This model is not very popular and there is not much discussion about it online. It is made for eGPU enclosures and Mac computers, so it’s not common in the desktop community. If anyone here owns this card and is experienced, could you please post a tear-down guide? I’d like to be able to clean and repaste this card after its warranty runs out. I also read somewhere that this card uses the reference pcb. Does this mean I could just follow the reference model tear-downs?
  2. I know you have already received the help you needed, but I want to chime in and say that I've been running a 6800 XT and a 10400F on a 650W PSU for many months now without issue. My PSU is the EVGA 650 GT (80+ Gold). The 10400 and 5600G should have similar levels of power consumption according to this chart from Techspot:
  3. Late update for anyone who finds this thread in the future: Juular bought this psu and took it apart and said that "it would be moved to tier B low priority in the next revision." Post where he said it: Post where he took it apart:
  4. Do you know how many P/E cycles the Toshiba NAND was rated for?
  5. So the people who were speculating that PNY reduced the TBW on paper in response to chia could be on to something?
  6. Thank you for your comment and all your guidance in the community! I got to place an order, and I hope it ships.
  7. I'm wondering why this ssd dropped to such a low price. I read that the controller and NAND were changed, and that the endurance was reduced significantly. But that has been known for months now, and even PNY acknowledged the change. Maybe GameStop was sitting on extra supply of the drive since less people wanted it because of the changes? Could there be more component changes hiding in these drives from GameStop? Or could this be a simple price mismatch (the 500GB version regularly goes for $65)? I know absolutely nothing about ssds and I am completely ignorant of the business side of things, so these are just thoughts. What do you guys think? I know that no one can know for sure, but I want to hear your speculations
  8. Thank you everyone for the input! Since gaming will be the most demanding task I do with my system, I think I'll be fine with the stock cooler. I'll probably get a decent cooler eventually when I need it.
  9. Will the Intel stock cooler be enough to handle removing power limits on the 10400F? I have a 4000D, with the mesh front panel and an extra fan coming in the mail. There will be two intake fans in the front, and one exhaust fan in the back. Is this question impossible to answer without testing it out myself, or will I definitely need another cooler? 10. I searched the forum a little bit and found 1 person who had a horrible experience with EVGA and 5 people who vouched for their customer support. Thank you I’ll keep the psu, thank you guys for the help!
  11. True, I’m not really building a high end system either. Do you think it’s worth switching for the customer service lol? I had an amazing experience with Corsair because they offered to send me the airflow front panel for the 4000D and an extra fan for free. Idk anything about EVGA’s support
  12. I purchased an EVGA Supernova GT 650 for $50, but recently found out it’s more like a low priority Tier B than a Tier A. I will be using a 970 for now, but will upgrade to a 3060ti or something similar in the future. I don’t mind returning the GT, so is it worth it to upgrade to a better psu? I see the CX-gray 650W for $50 on Newegg at the time of this post, and it looks like a potential option. I’m looking to spend around $50-$80. The Enermax Revolution DF is on the higher end of that at $80 on Amazon. I’m in the US, and I have access to Amazon, Newegg, and Microcenter. 13. What about the CX-gray? It’s $65 for the 650W right now (with rebate tho). Is it worth spending the extra $15 on it if I don’t mind returning the 650 GT? (Also, thank you guys for doing this research)
  14. Thank you so much for the clarification! It comes with a 7 year warranty too. This looks like one of the best power supply deals I’ve seen
  15. I saw an EVGA Supernova 650 GT on Amazon for $50, and it looks too good to be true. People seem generally pretty okay with this power supply, but I wanted to ask here just in case because “EoL/obsolete and/or generally not recommended for purchase” kinda scares me. I did a shallow search in the spreadsheet, but didn’t find anything on the GT. Oddly, the spreadsheet lists the EVGA G3 in the “grey out notes” section, but the G3 isn’t grayed out on the psu tier list.
