  1. This information is for education purposes only. It is possible just research the processor in question either it is on the market (a little cover for certain pins you attach) if it is in the market you can also just look at which pins are being covered and put a little tape on top to do it ur self cheaper since these pin covers cost 15 to 25 USD. If there is nothing on the market you can just research ur self which pin to cover and do ir manually. to clarify you might lose some other functionality by doin this and you can also just go by trial and error but I don't know how risky that might be for your cpu Edit: I want to apologize for Miss informing people apparently in the more recent cpus this does not work since I have rather old hardware I was mistaken that this still works
  2. thanks a lot sadly the gpu prices haven't had the inflated price in europe >< I mean I can even buy 30 series in the local hardware store (for 100 euros more than announced but well its available) I mean I saw the 960 2Gb go for 20 Euros on ebay so basically free if you calculate ''shipping'' costs the 1050 ti would still give me a little but I inted to gift that one to a friend whos gpu broke since he has an i5 6600k and that kinda fits together but since you gave me amazing advises I will just try to save for some cpu and till then use the 1045T or even the FX 6300
  3. well technically my budget is limitless but I have a few things laying arounbd I wouldnt want to go to waist fx 4300 rx460 smth build fx6300 gtx960 build current phenom II 2x 1045T gtx150ti build q6600 gt610 build so I am asking my self if I could make due with a better combination of parts since I got the 1660 as a gift for settin gup someones new pc properly (was really generous of him to give me his old gpu) he bought a ryzen 5 2600 and a 2070 super with 3200Mhz ram but didn't know how to build it as well as xmp stuff and bnasic things like disabling the enhanced speed in mouse/pointer settings
  4. okay I thank you a ton got a few more questions what would be your recommendations for upgrading since prices skyrocketright now? I have the chance on an FX 6300 if that would make more sense I dont even know what my motherboard supports tbh havent checked yet but the 6300 has an semi working motherboard as well would that work in any way with an 1660 or would a cpu only upgrade make more sense? btw I have a GA-78LMT-USB3 R2
  5. so even tho it has 2 cores more than for example an i5 6600 these are still to slow in multicore performance for newer games ? Cyberpunk is a good example wanted to play that bannerlord as well I guess thats not something a little overclock can fix is it? if you say down the road is that a sign for as fast as possible or something like well you should upgrade someday thanks for your help
  6. Dear Forum members, would a Phenom II x6 1045T combined with an Zotac GTX 1660 AMP make any difference over an Asus GTX 1050 Ti? since the cpu bottlenecks the 1050Ti already I ask my self if it makes a difference like anywhere for 60Hz 1680x1050 gaming ? or should I also upgrade the cpu when I am at it? or does even a cpu upgrade make the most sense? I think about getting an 1920x1080 screen 60hz or maybe 120hz (only since the prices doesnt change much not for the 120Hz) and want to just play recent games at 40+ ish fps thanks for your help in advance
  7. Dear LTT Community, I really don't know what to do this is my last try to fix this sooooo since I bought my GTX 1070 12/12/2016 it had this issue with random freezes in some games but when I send the graphics card back they said its totally fine but now since corona started and I got more time for gaming when ever I play quiet some time I get random disconnects like someone would unplug my dp cable I changed the cable and I had my monitor checked by acer twice I tried other poarts but nothing seems to help. this happens in games like cs go paladins valorant and albion online so not even really demanding games. I also have the feeling this mainly happens if the pc starts warming up a little ( I checked my fans and rearranged them the pc is a lot cooler now but it still happens after a few sessions of gaming, like 2-3 rounds paladins. my specs i5 6600k not overclocked or anything gainward phoenix edition gtx 1070 8 gb ripjaw g.skill 2800 (I couldn't get my motherboard to run it at 2800 thought stays on 2133) a Gigabyte B150-HD3P windows 10 professional Samsung 850 evo 256 GB 4TB WD Blue hdd nzxt phantom tower white and blue dp port on an Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx it apparently doesn't happen with the hdmi cable and it didn't happen with my brothers graphicscard gtx 660 (max support 120hz) but with my friends radeon something graphics card it happened I read something of errors with above 120 hz so I ask my self if it could be the monitor or the monitors ports. I want to thank everyone for there thoughts on this and their help. best regards, Volkayno edit: now I have changed the refreshrate to 120 hz in nvidia control panel and it seems to have disappeared but is this a driver issue a hardware issue and incase of hardware which part is broken ? bc it wasn't there before not on my 144hz monitor and not on the 240 hz just when the monitor came back from acer. edit #2 all of a sudden really frequent black screens in albion online on 120 hz I don't understand anything should I send the monitor back in ?
