Oh i didn't know that, for some reason i thought for dual channel to work both ram sticks must have the same size. Well that makes the decision much easier then.

some days ago i bought the asus g14 (rzyen 4800h, gtx1660ti, 16gb [3200mhz] ram, 512gb ssd). It has 8gb ram soldered on the motherboard and it ships with an additional 8gb installed in a sodimm slot.

I do 4k video editing with medium to heavy video effects. I would love to increase the ram but i fear that if i replace the 8gb stick in the sodimm slot  with a 32gb one the system performance would decrease because there will be no dual channel ability.

Has anyone experience with this Problem or can recommend in any other way recommend what to do.
