  1. I don't see what all excitement is about. It's not like it's a once in a lifetime event.
  2. You've obviously never driven a full frame Toyota 4runner with full-time 4 wheel drive, a switchable low 4 wheel drive range and lockable transfer case. Equipped with a 4.6L V8, it has the perfect weight balance ratio. The wife has a 2005 with those features that will handle any snow event you could throw at it. I trust it more than my full sized 4X4 Tundra in inclement weather.
  3. Yeah... I can't remember that last YouTube video i saw challenging kids to choke out, blackout, take excessive amounts of Benadryl or... https://wegotthiscovered.com/social-media/the-10-most-dangerous-tiktok-trends-of-all-time/
  4. Don't you know that the furry ears on your bunny slippers act as static discharge wicks?
  5. And you don't think the dirt and grime gets airborne when the fan is running?
  6. I'd be more worried about the dirt and grime collection on the fan ending up in my computer.
  7. Or allowing some sort of professional third party gamer to pinch hit for him...
  8. Curious as to why one would leave a game running in the background for days?
  9. Considering Freddy Mercurys' voice is/was a one of a kind and instantly recognizable, that sounds exactly like what someone did.
  10. It's weird, It's wrong. Its a disrespectful to Freddy Mercurys' legacy. I hope someone gets their pants sued off.
  11. Did you test the new battery before installing? I've had many that were "new" and tested under 3 volts.
  12. Sounds like your describing a new XL mouse pad.
  13. As a long time user of first generation non Google Nest cameras, i find myself testing some of the Ring cameras with reservations. Google flat out took Nest to the crapper. I also use a hard wired Swann camera system which functions sufficiently. I'm also building an old school camera system using a Pelco DX8100 Hybrid 8tb DVR with internet and DX Series Client capabilities. That ESPHome looks like a hackers paradise.
  14. Growing up, if i broke something my parents got me, i didn't get another.
  15. I use one of these to dust out server cabinets and such at work. DEWALT 20V MAX Blower, 100 CFM Airflow, Variable Speed Switch, Includes Trigger Lock, Bare Tool Only (DCE100B)
  16. On a whim I stopped by the local pawn shop after work and lo and behold, they had a Samsung T5 1tb portable storage on the shelf. They were asking $27, but they accepted $20. Got it home, tested it and gutted out the mSATA drive which fit the caddy perfectly. Loaded Windows 10 and runs like a champ. BTW, I contacted the eBay seller informing them that the carrier they had listed as a M.2 caddy was actually a mSATA interface. They immediately refunded my money and told me to do whatever with the caddy. So a free caddy and a 1tb Samsung 860 EVO drive equivalent for $20? Going to keep an eye out for the 2tb edition. Yeah, it's older and slower, but still an interesting cheap hack.
  17. Sure. And then i have to find the special rear adapter plate to mount to the SATA SSD which locks the drive in place and also makes it able to remove the drive without digging at it with a screwdriver. It doesn't have to be a Ferrari. It's just going to be used for an automotive diagnostic laptop.
  18. Well I believe I have figured this mess out. These caddies came with different interfaces. Here is a photo of the exact same caddy, but with a standard SATA interface. Notice the lack of the two side mounted screw bosses, and the narrower/deeper inset pin interface.... Of course they are impossible to find .
  19. Looking at the Dell manual for the Latitude 14 Rugged Extreme 7414 shows a confusing photo. The adapter has only one interface notch to the right. The card shown in the manual is longer and thinner than a mSATA and has both left and right notches...
  20. Appreciate the replies. Evidently mSATA drives in 1tb are scarce and expensive. The best option looks the be a Samsung 860 Evo. But then i ran across a Reddit article that talked about the Samsung Portable T5 SSD which is available in 2tb and uses a mSATA card. Basically you just gut the card out of the T5 and drop it into the mSATA adapter housing.
  21. Purchased a Pegatron ME-1TB solid state drive adapter for my Dell 14 Rugged Extreme 7414 laptop thinking i could fit a M.2 NVME due the center screw location of the adapter. But as luck would have it, a M.2 NVME will not fit due to being too long. That and the interface slot area of the case is much wider that the M.2 NVME. So what SSD fits this? MSATA? If so, why the rear center screw down location?
  22. That's why they (the messages) are now known as a DM (directly messages). Can't call 'em PM' s anymore because they are no longer private.
