I think I am trying to find excuse lol, Tbh the i7 does what I need atm but I always like that more factor and I know there is a few AAA games coming that I want a fantastic experience in as well and Im unsure if the 7700 will keep up

I have a i7-7700 with a motherboard that I believe is failing, I think it has a short somewhere sometimes it wont come on at all tried everything, I put it back together leave it be few hours or days pass it will come on and work fine again... so I suspect the board is going out anyway enough of that on to my question. This was a pre built Asus g11-cdk I have upgraded the ram and the psu and the gpu, My question is should I buy another MB for the i7-7700 non K and that would last another year or so? Or Should I jump to a 6 core Ryzen 5 3600 or another cpu around that range ? with a new case of course!
