Hey everyone, couple months back I bought a ASUS TUF Gaming x670e wifi mobo and got a 7950x (not 3d) to go with it. Lasted 2-3 months until one morning it wouldn't come out of sleep, mobo was throwing a vga light. I learned Asus mobos were cooking am5 cpus, so replaced with a MSI x670e mobo and found out the Asus mobos killed my CPU. So, replaced the CPU as well.
My question is, is mobo trash now or you think if it's fixed in a bios update I should trust it? I purchased a replacement CPU, but AMD just approved my warranty claim so a new 7950x is in the mail. I think the mobo still technically works, but tbh i just don't know if it's a fundamental problem with the mobo or it's just be being lazy not keeping the bios updated that killed my first CPU.
I have friends that could use the free upgrade, but maybe it's not worth the risk and I should just resell the CPU?
TLDR:
Can BIOS update fix mobo that killed first CPU or just trash the mobo?
