  1. A couple things I wanted to ask about this build: Do you think I should pony up for 32gb of RAM? I only ask that because I remember reading that Jedi Fallen order had originally recommended 32GB of RAM and then everyone complained so they dialed it back to 16GB. But I mean, if games these days are really starting to push 32gb of RAM, is that something i should look into? Also, do I need to buy a separate cooler with that cpu or will it come with a stock cooler?
  2. I was a bit curious about the 2080. I thought that 2080 was primarily for 4k gaming and I didn't have a 4k panel so it seemed wasted on me. I'll take a look. Also, is Ryzen 7 the AMD equivalent to Intel's i9? I'm not familiar with AMD's universe. I always thought gaming didn't really need hyper threading too much.
  3. Interesting! Didn't realize AMD had replaced Intel. I can do without RGB and water cooling. It's more important that my computer is functional instead of snazzy-looking. I think I could probably re-purpose an old case if needed. I have an old desktop from the 90s just sitting around that I could probably gut for the casing.
  4. Ah, didn't realize it was pushing that far into the pricing. If it helps, I already own the gaming mouse, keyboard, and monitor so those are sunk costs. No plans to overclock or stream. No particular reason we went with Intel over AMD. I literally just went to my friend and said I wanted a rig that would let me game at 1440p/144hz and that's what he came up with. Do you recommend an AMD build instead?
  5. Budget (including currency): ~$1000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars: The Old republic, Assassin's Creed series, and other rpgs. Hi! My friend is putting together a pc build for me since I wouldn't even know where to begin. Can you guys comment on whether the build below would be enough to run games on 1440p at 144hz? Was there anything we missed? For the record, I already have the gaming monitor, mouse and keyboard even though they are on the list so without those, the build comes in at just over $1000. Please let me know. Thanks! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vY43Qq Edit: I think the $1000 price point might be throwing people off. It's not a hard budget, I just didn't want to go super crazy into the $2000 range. I'm okay with pushing up to $1500. I already own the gaming monitor, mouse and keyboard.
