  1. Hi all, I brought a relative's old laptop back to life with a copy of Xubuntu, and I recently installed ClamAV (although I'm not quite sure I did everything right). Whenever I initiate a scan in the terminal, a lot of areas seem to have an "Access Denied" error. Here's the full log, which came after I inputted "sudo clamdscan" ----- /home/xubi/.Xauthority: Access denied. ERROR /home/xubi/.xsession-errors: Access denied. 2. Hey all, What are some PGP keyservers you think are essential? I have an email address that I share publicly, and want to submit my public key to as many places as possible. Thanks!
  3. Hi all, I'm using Thunderbird 68.10.0 (64-bit) on macOS Catalina 10.15.5 I have multiple inboxes used on my client, mostly Google accounts but my primary one is non-Google and syncs via CalDav. Unfortunately, my tasks won't sync. In fact, adding a new task is a completely grayed-out option. Anyone else run into this issue? Attached is a screenshot of what I see, as well as the add-ons I'm running (minus Enigmail... I use that, too, but only had so much room in the screenshot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Happy to supply more details if needed. Thanks! ----- UPDATE: Welp, I figured this out myself. My service has a different CalDav address between calendars and tasks. Whoops!
  4. Brilliant! That's exactly what I needed. Thank you!
  5. Hi all, I primarily use Thunderbird as my desktop email client. I have configured Enigmail to handle my encrypted emails, but it has a default feature that isn't available to other users of PGP: it encrypts the subject line. While I would normally be elated by this, no other program is able to do that. Thus, my subject lines sent from Thunderbird always read "..." in any other email client. Does anyone know how to disable subject line encryption on Enigmail? Once other programs start doing this, I'll turn it back on immediately. But for now, I gotta turn this off. Thanks!
  6. Thank you both! I think that puts my question to rest. I appreciate the help!
  7. Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, I didn't get this prompt when I installed Ubuntu Server on VirtualBox. I don't see anywhere I can retroactively opt out.
  8. Hey all. New to the forum. I asked this same question on reddit, but haven't gotten a solid answer. Maybe my phrasing wasn't exactly right. Here's my question: Does Ubuntu Server send data usage/hardware/any kind of reports similar to regular Ubuntu? If so, how can you turn them off? Context: I want to set up my own Nextcloud server at home. The easiest way I've heard to do that is through Ubuntu Server. However, I'm also concerned about privacy (I want to ditch Google Drive). LTT mentioned this kind of data reporting in a video a little while ago. I've also seen a bunch of articles like this: https://itsfoss.com/ubuntu-data-collection-stats/ https://vitux.com/how-to-force-ubuntu-to-stop-collecting-your-data-from-your-pc/ https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2018/02/ubuntu-data-collection-opt-out Thanks!
