  1. In the movie WarGames, the computer that David Lightman uses has an odd beeping sound that I would like to recreate. However, I don't know what it is. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXzNo0vR_dU
  2. Hello. I am making a sort of ARG and want to have SSTV images in it. In the Portal series, radios have very bad sstv transmissions like this: I know a lot of it is due to noise but I have only been able to produce an image like this: I don't know what I am doing wrong. Should I add more static? How do I make it seem convincing that the signal is actually bad? I lost the audio for image 2 so here is something similar: SSTV_HIGHRES_45.wav And here is the sstv for image 1:
  3. You should 1. review others PCPartPicker lists or 2. review the Source engine/Source 2 and see how it stands up to modern game engines like Unreal or Unity. Maybe even have ReShade as well?
  4. I have an Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) that has kernel panics while sleeping (usually while charging) that leads to a screen with a blinking question mark folder and a link to an apple startup support page. When I force shut down and restart, I get the Kernel Panic screen and a report. 5. Why doesn't Linus's account have LTT team on it?
  6. Hello. I have a problem: I am running Win10 and MS Word 2019, and when I select a font or a font theme, the letters are jagged and look like they are from WinXP. However, when I type, the fonts are smoothed like they should be because I have cleartype & font smoothing enabled! Please help.
  7. I don't want to cosplay, I just want a simple costume.
  8. I have, but it is super expensive ($150-$160) & I am not paying that much.
  9. Hello. I am trying to put together a Darth Momin sith lord costume, but the one problem is that I can't find the helmet! Is there a way to get a cheap Lord Momin mask somewhere? I would prefer it to not have any scratches (those are more expensive, I will not pay $250 for a true to life helmet) and fit a normal sized head. Thank you!
  10. Hello! I am considering making a desktop setup for my friend's macbook pro 16" and have a PCPP list. I don't know the best monitor for this, and I also don't know if I need speakers. Please help!
  11. Aside from the AMD stuff, should I get the K95 RGB Platinum or the ROG Strix Flare?
  12. And another rumor is that the 5000 cpus will be zen 4????
  13. I don't know if this is accurate but I thought the leaks said they would only be OEM(?????????) and I don't know if the chipset will change, requiring me to wait for a different mobo etc. Any updates?
  14. Budget (including currency): $4500 USD Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Blender heavy rendering, lots of chrome tabs, PPEGX (PowerPoint Extended Graphics Presentation), Light games Other details: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/MC59/saved/kYMsXL, Please review my peripherals, upgrading from a 8GB RAM Intel Core i7-2670QM, I will buy probably in December, 2560x1440/165hz monitor w/ G-Sync Thanks!
  15. No, can you disable it through an admin account without the passcode?
  16. My friend (who wishes to remain anonymous in every way) asked me to help them set up screen time on their mac and unfortunately he set a passcode but forgot. They don't have an Apple ID so there is no 'Forgot Password?' button. Also, they are not an administrator so they cannot recover it through an admin account. Is there a way to disable screen time through terminal or find the passcode through the library folders? Thanks.
  17. OK. Sorry about the in person bit but I'll wait for the asus. Thanks.
  18. https://www.asus.com/Monitors/TUF-GAMING-VG27AQL1A/ Images are there; $519.99 on 'Adorama' but $479.99 on B&H Photo (preorder). It looks like the FI27Q is only FreeSync certified, and originally I had that on the PCPP list but I found a lot of reviews that said that G-Sync didn't work. I don't know if it was because they used HDMI instead of DisplayPort, but I also don't know what DP cable to get. I might get the FI27Q-P if it has real G-Sync but honestly I just want a fast, high res 27 inch monitor. I don't care about motion blur but if the screen splits into sections I won't like that. Of course I will get a 2080 Ti in the build so maybe that isn't a problem. Thanks for your feedback.
  19. Hello. I am searching for a monitor to go with my $3600 build and want some advice. The monitor I want is one with G-Sync, 27 inches, fast (6-1 ms) response times, and 2560x1440 resolution. I found 3 monitors: 1) ASUS TUF VG27AQ1LA. New release, not in pcpartpicker, but a solid(?) choice. 2) LG 27GL850. Another good option(?). 3) ViewSonic Elite XG270QG. I don't know which one to choose, I really like the look of the TUF but don't know when it will be on more reputable stores (e.g. Amazon). The Elite is seriously confusing with the similarities between models but difference in prices. The LG is fine but I don't know if I should wait for the TUF or go with another one. Thank you for your help!
  20. Is there a way to recover a mac screen time passcode without iCloud?
