No it wouldn't happen because you can in fact just sell the box if you list it as only the box, under a relevant category that indicates its only a box, which is not the case in the listing in the OP.

No one actually buys just the box. Sorry to burst your fantasy bubble but collecting boxes isn't something that really happens. And you accuse the buyers or being incapable of reading when all this time you are incapable of reading the simple solution already provided many times over in this thread to list the box or fan without the full physical CPU specification. I guess its obvious to see where all this kind of scamming comes from though - the LTT community.

Maybe try looking at the screenshot in the OP again. 'Description, Item Specifics, About This Product' all specify that a full CPU is being advertised.

Its also stated throughout the listing that its also the CPU. You go to a car dealership and see a full car advertised, the full specification, all the extras. Then get sold a single tire because somewhere in the listing it said 'tire only'. Tell me where else other than Ebay this happens?

False advertising is illegal everywhere, not just on Ebay.

Maybe try looking at the word 'resources' again. A box most clearly is not a 'Computer component' however.

I just had a look. There is in fact a category for it. Computers > Manuals / Resources. You can list your box or cooler only sales in there without any need to list the full specification of the actual hardware that you aren't selling. Or you know, maybe stop selling empty boxes?

Did you forget the word 'for / from?'. 'Box Only From ....' makes perfect sense. The only reason to specify box at the end is to scam.

And why are you putting the 'box only' part at the end of the title if that is what you're selling? Why are you not listing it as 'Box for / from without GPU ...'? Why are you choosing to deliberately mislead and falsely advertise the GPU? Why is the listing for the box placed under GPUs? Why does the box only listing contain the full specifications including weight of the actual GPU?

Sure, then list it as a box only, stop advertising all the specifications of the GPU that it doesn't contain. Dont list it under GPUs. Put box only at the start of the item title, not at the end.

Those are brand new ones. You can get a better Arctic cooler than an Intel stock cooler for under £10. Just because an item costs more doesn't increase the value or the box or accessories it comes with, that's a rubbish metric to try and use.
